hi, I have an Iphone 3g with the 4.0 firmware. I'm trying to jailbreak it using ziphone but for some reason ziphone wont recognize the phone. the whole time it just says searching, even though my pc and itunes recognizes it. does anyone know what's wrong? is ziphone just too out-dated? if so is there another program that has similar advanced user options like ziphone does?

What are you searching for on Google if it's not "jailbreak iphone 3g 4.0"? Because the first hit has everything you need. In fact, I can't find a single hit referring to ziphone on the first 5 or so pages of hits. How did you come to the conclusion that you needed to use ziphone for ... anything?

And another thing: Why 4.0? Why not 4.2.1?

oh, of course no. I know that I dont really need to use it to jailbreak it. i mean my phone is already jailbroken. I just like some of the other features that ziphone has and it's not recognizing my phone and I was just wondering if anyone knew why.

it's not 4.2.1 because I'v had it for awhile and i'm not going to update it until I can find a break for that firmware
