Is there any way to compress (zip) a folder on a Mac without it creating a "_MACOSX" folder and other random crap in the zip? This is pretty important to me.

Any help is appreciated.

If you zip from the Terminal you don't get those extra files added.

I put together a screencast a while back on zipping in Terminal, take a look.

You also have more options when you zip this way, like using extra compression.
