I was troubleshooting the last version of the non-unibody Macbook Pro (2.5 C2D) and I swapped a drive from a Unibody Macbook Pro into this one and all the gestures besides 3 finger drag work fine. Inertial scrolling works great too. FYI.

But 3 finger drag works fine on the Unibody MBP, right? Try the patch, it might make it work.

Thanks for releasing this. :)
It works on my late 2008 Macbook Air.
May you win a lifetime supply of cookies!

Glad it worked...:)

PS. would those be chocolate chip cookies by any chance? Even better with macadamia. ;):D

Hi to all. Is this kext will work on Macbook Mid 2009 (Macbook 5.2)?
As I know it was last model, what didn't has multi-touch, because Macbook Late 2009 already has it.
So and is 10.7.4 kext compatible with 10.8GM?
Thanks.

Nope. This kept will only work on Macs that have multitouch but no 3 finger drag. Also, I'm not sure if it works on 10.8 GM, and I don't think so. I haven't tested the GM yet as I haven't had the chance to download it yet.

Here's an OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion kext that I've modified. It works fine on my 2008 MBP. :)

So I'm confused after reading this, can someone summarize how to do it on mountain lion? I do have a trackpad from a 2008 mbp that is multitouch capable.

You can use the kext drFUNK provided. Simply install it. You can use a program like Kext Utility.

Uhh so I downloaded the 10.8.2 kext and replaced it. Ran permissions repair and rebooted and now keyboard and trackpad are not working!

Can anyone help? I do have a backup with time machine. But since the keyboard or the mouse don't work, I can't do anything. I have 10.8, early 2008 MacBook Pro.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks, that worked! All good now! Don't know why the kext didn't work though. I would very much like the three finger drag on my MBP. Oh well.

If you have 10.8 you should use the 10.8 kext, not the 10.8.2 kext.
