I just can't wait for more stores i frequent to use nfc (at least in the states), especially the coffee shops, other fast food chains, and especially restaurants. There's not much I can use mobile payments with in my area except for the local Walgreens and MCdonalds. I saw someone in line in front of me used a starbucks card on their phone to pay. sigh...

And the funny part is, places that accept apple Pay (like Panera) seem to have forgotten to tell their cashiers about it - they (different stores) keep explaining to me that you can't pay with a phone and that a physical card is required, until I show them otherwise - than they are amazed, but don't know what just happens (and sometimes still want to see a card, which I refuse)

PNC works!

I just set mine up with PNC and it verified. Going to lunch to test it out.

Just got 2 of my USAA cards on there!!!

I totally wish we could name them, my kids have accounts and it would be nice to have theirs on there with names... lighten the wallet totally. Guess I just will transfer money to my account when/if it needs to happen.

ETA: I did a credit and a debit, and I had to call to verify, they sent a text code and I had to enter that. No option to do it via app like my Capital One card. I have the USAA app and use it daily. I'm really hoping they kick up their notifications - i have text alerts set and never get them until the day after. It would be nice if Apple Pay means I get EVERYTHING now.

I would love to see a longer list of retailers. It's a fun experience to use Apple Pay for me, but not many opportunities.

BarclayCard is now working. I just added mine to Passbook/Apple Pay.

My Barclaycard Arrival Plus added just fine....though it shows as a regular Arrival in Passbook. And I suppose I'll be deleting and re-adding it in a few days as supposedly a new one is on the way because of HomeDepot breach.

Let's see more retailers supporting it. More banks are pointless unless more retailers support Apple Pay, as it's relatively easy to change banks if they drag their feet. Not to mention that many of us have a non-bank-issued Amex card, which supports Apple Pay everywhere.

This..I'm more excited about a retailer jumping into the fray.

I always wonder whether MacRumors utilizes the tips I send in and just completely fails to mention me, or if I just happen to send in my tip a few minutes before they post the article.

In this case, I sent in a tip via email at 10:30 AM (although my tip was only regarding Navy Federal - I didn't know whether the other banks were also going live with Apple Pay or not), and they posted this article 23 minutes later at 10:53.

My PNC Credit card added no problem.

My PNC Debit card however is not adding. It tells me Invalid Card, check the details on the card... everything is correct. Not sure.

I emailed my regional bank about a week ago (Farmington Bank) and they emailed right back and said "we know technology is important to our customers and that they are currently working with Apple to get Apple Pay working with their debit cards." Wasn't in this rollout, but hopefully by years end.

Mine adds but it gave me a number to call to verify it for some reason, highlighted in blue. Does not give me any other way to verify. My Barclay Card does the same thing. Yes it is added also but both say I have to call to verify?

Mine worked. I have the White/Gray/Orange PNC Logo Virtual Wallet Debit Card (albeit, no longer have the Virtual Wallet account) but it just shows the generic all orange PNC Debit card on Passbook.

My bank wasn't supported at launch so I contacted them via email and this what I received back about a week ago.

WesBanco responded on October 27, 2014 at 7:57 AM as follows:
Andrew,

Thank you for your message. WesBanco has been selected to participate in Apple Pay. Apple chose a phased rollout for Apple Pay, selecting new banks in each phase. WesBanco is in third phase to participate. Apple determines the order when banks can participate. We are very excited about being selected for Apple Pay and will make an announcement in the next few weeks. Have a great day.

Did you have to call to verify your Arrival Plus card? I've been on hold with Barclaycard for what feels like an eternity trying to verify my card.

Still waiting for iTunes Radio in Europe... Not even thinking about getting Apple Pay anytime soon.

I have no doubt that banks have to be FAR easier to work with than the Music industry! Here's to hope for both in the near future across the pond.

I think there is some verification that happens in the background for people when "it just works." But if the verification fails for some reason, then you have to call and verify. For instance is the address you have for yourself in your phone the same as your billing address? Is your iPhone phone number the same as one that the bank may have on file, etc? I think this sort of info is passed when the card is first set up and if there is any disagreement, then you have to call.

M&T Bank also now works! I just added both my Credit and Debit cards. A phone number is provided to call M&T to activate.
