Still waiting for iTunes Radio in Europe... Not even thinking about getting Apple Pay anytime soon.

You'll get Apple Pay long before iTunes Radio.

Apple Pay doesn't depend upon stupid labels all wanting their own licensing deals.

Just chiming in.. My BarclayCard added successfully today without any sort of verification needed.

I do find one thing funny. In the Apple Way, the card is pure white (I got this card when I bought a MBP about 5 years back); I don't know if all their cards are pure white.

Since the card is pure white, the camera feature (which is really cool on other cards) can't read the numbers and they have to be typed in.

Design > function

I may be confused. Both my Barclay and my PNC Debit Card are added but on the page with the card info (card number) and special code for Device Account number all filled in. but both say Call PNC Bank (and a number) or for Barclay call Barclaycard and a number. So I am wondering if cards are good and if I need to call anything to verify. For those of you whose PNC or Barclay. I finally got to someone on PNC he says that really support is not good til November 7 so I am wondering if anyone has gotten their PNC cards to actually work or just enter into the applepay settings?

fyi in the SE: Regions Bank, Renasant Bank and Keesler Federal Credit Union are also Apple Pay active now. Anyone know if Sun Trust is Apple Pay yet?

NFCU Debit & CC now loaded up along with my Amex!

Just waiting for my BofA corporate card to be supported! It's already chip & pin (I travel for work in Europe), but I'd love to use it on the NFC readers I see all over the UK!

For people waiting for their bank - the banks will come. A poster a few pages back posted the e-mail he got from his bank saying they were a "phase 3" Apple Pay roll-out, so more will come. Visa & MC are big behind this, and banks don't want to lose out on this business as CCs make them a lot of money (Hence Apple's interest in this).

For people wondering when more businesses will support this - that will also come. Not every business has the hatred of CC swipe fees that the CurrentC merchants have. Also remember that all merchants have bankers, and the bankers will want them to support Apple Pay, as will their payment processors. So there are a lot of people who will be leaning on businesses to support this. If Apple can roll-out a loyalty program (Rumored) then that will alleviate a lot of anxiety that larger merchants have about anonymous payments.

LASTLY If you want to see more Apple Pay support, ping both your banks & your favorite merchants about it! I've been e-mailing/tweeting at businesses like mad, and have gotten a lot of positive responses. I've also been submitting my favorite businesses to Apple via the Product Feedback section (And have gotten a nice e-mail back from Apple for all of my submissions). Businesses need to hear that people want this, so engage them!

How did you add your Best Buy loyalty card into the app? When I scan mine it says no entry is available.

It then says "you can only scan passes", when the text right on the button that ow can add loyalty cards - which isn't very clear.

I used passsource.com to create passes for both Best Buy and Staples. I haven't actually been to a store to see if they work yet. They aren't official, by any means. Passbook Passes are actually fairly simple to create... I can't believe more stores haven't jumped at the chance to use it!

Actually, I think it's specially stupid paying up to 3% in taxes by stacking multiple payment methods, i.e., your credit card provider + your bank + apple pay. If it wasn't enough paying taxes to the government...

The charge to the customer and to the retailer with Apple Pay is the same as for a card-present regular credit card transaction.

Get over it.

Well, if the seller pays these 3%, then we actually pay.

In Brazil, discounts when paying with cash money are from 3% to 10%, but not every seller offers this option.

Some sellers charge the same price for a product irrespective to the payment method, but in this case they're actually receiving more when a consumer pays with cash.

Hence why I said "supposedly" built into the price. The pricing of items should be set to ASSume that a CC is going to be used. It is something they teach in business classes and such, and big retailers should have long ago upped their prices to cover it. They just forget they did that....

Gas stations in the US are the most apt to have separate pricing for cash (normally like 10 cents a gallon cheaper). Some stores will offer cash discounts, but you normally have to ask.

When you go into a store here, the price you see is what you will pay based on the types of payment accepted. Plus the sales tax, which isn't added until sold and not included in the advertised price (unlike the VAT in EU). Not sure how that end is handled in Brazil.

ETA: the banks I use do NOT charge me a fee for using my debit card, either as debit or credit (which is NOT credit, but runs thru that system and just comes out of my checking account). I gather some still limit the debits their customers get for free each month - while giving them unlimited free credits with that card.

He's talking about another countries way of doing things and not totally grasping the American way.

My Barclaycard (Ring) added just fine.

Well (like my PNC debit card) it added ok but both asking for phone verification? what does that mean. Do I need to call? Or just use. Do you have that?

OK just got off phone with PNC specialist helping with applepay. She says the number does not mean i need to call in. The fact that it added means my PNC (and and of course then my Barclay card) is ready to go. The only reason to call the number it put in was if you needed help she told me.

URGH! Wishful thinking. It does not work in the UK with a Barclays debit card, though I haven't tried using a UK Barclaycard.

I really want :apple:PAY now and I don't think it ever looks good just releasing a major new feature in one country. Though I know this period of testing and staggered release is necessary. I just feel Apple could have made more banks on board, internationally, before release. I just really fear we're looking at another iTunes Radio case and the rest of the world won't see Apple:apple: for years.

Yep sure is weird thats we don't have it in the UK, the US has been years behind with chip & Pin, most shops here including the post office have NFC & contactless enabled card readers..even the whole of the london underground! so whats the hold up?
I presume some US banks can skip the whole chip & Pin card thing & go straight to mobile, so they want it asap.

On the Phone now with PNC, they say they're having issues since it just went live. Been a half hour so far, since I have been on hold most of the time.

Mine told me to call in but when I try calling in they say follow the prompts

I talked to a specialist (was hard to get there, got prompts and such and finding a person was hard, ended up with credit card folks who then sent me with another 10 minute wait to their applpay specialist) She told me the fact that my card added ok was just right. The phone number thing was confusing to her as it was to us. She said maybe it is for support anyway my card should work).

My PNC Debit and Credit cards are now ready for apple pay. Took about 40 minutes on the phone being on hold most of the time. Hopefully after they get the bugs worked out it will be smoother in the future to verify.

When you call choose online banking option

FYI it switch from call to verify to Card is ready for Apple Pay while I was on the phone. They didn't have me do anything on my phone.

Now to call Barclay.

Have you not added any other cards? (as in, do you know what a successful one looks like)

After the card is added, you will have a message under it when you tap on it in Passbook that says "XYZ debit/credit Mastercard (or visa)" is ready for Apple Pay.

Before I had that on all 3 of the ones I have added, I had the verification message. For Capital One last week I could do it thru their app. Today for USAA I had to do it via phone with the process as below.

The phone number they have set up was an Apple Pay one, I then had to enter my account number, my online pin, then they sent me a text and waited while I got it. Then entered that number into the phone call and it went verified.
