There is a cheaper way

It's too bad we have to pay $199 and get the whole phone replaced. They need to provide a cheaper option since it's just a piece of glass that couldn't cost more than a few bucks that's broken. Would you pay me $199 for a 3.5 inch piece of glass?

If you google iPhone repair then you should find some third party companies who can fix it. There are other alternatives outside off Apple, ya know:rolleyes:

The best out I found is an apple certified iPhone repair company who does it for a decent price. Comes with free shipping and a 90 day warranty too. Check out the link. You're welcome! :D

It's all luck, I dropped my 3+ times on hard surface from several ft high, still good as new.

Girlfriends iPhone, fell 35-40ft off my flats balcony onto grass. Only the screen smashed, everything still works and it didn't even turn off when it happened

I have to say ive had an Iphone ever since the first gen came out. Never had a case and have dropped everyone ive ever had on a hard surface. Never had a screen crack or break, or even scratch for that matter.

Sorry to hear about your phone. My wife just dropped her's in the driveway and cracked the screen. I took it to my local apple store and asked if they had a "get out of jail free card" once in a lifetime as a customer. He checked my history to make sure I wasn't abusing the system and gave me a new iPhone 4. I walked out an even more satisfied Apple customer. I can't say that too many other phone manufacturers would have done that.

Thank you Steve Jobs!!

Just got back from the APPLE store.

My screen was cracked and there was glass falling off of it (I cuz my foot on one small piece).

I took it to the store, and they gave me a new phone on the spot, even a free case so it doesn't happen again. No applecare....

They also admired the fact that it was jailbroken lol, and loved my 5 icon dashboard and 5 icon multi-tasking, also BITEsms lol.

<3 these guys!

^ I'm surprised they didn't say anything about the jailbreak.

Not only did they not say anything, but they admired it. A lot of them were under the impression that jailbreakers only jailbreak so that they can steal apps, which is for lack of a better term, wack...

I showed them biteSMS, OPENssh, Fakeoperator, MultiIconMover, and SBSettings. They thought it was awesome! Syracuse, NY Apple Store
