I use IRC, however IRC should be open and uncensored so I won't be using the MR channel.

I wouldn't say the MR IRC channel is closed and censored. Like in almost any IRC channel or forum, there are rules but I wouldn't say they are strict (well, they may seem strict on paper but even we OPs break the milder ones quite often 😛).

What are the do's and don'ts of the channel?

http://mr-irc.com/rules.htm

Especially the rules #10 and #11 are often violated but I don't think anyone has received more than a warning because of them, mainly because we OPs break them fairly often.

Please note, a slightly updated version of the rules can be found here, soon to be moving over to the link Hellhammer provided.

Like the title says, they are guidelines - the OPs are fairly relaxed regarding the atmosphere of the channel.

just to let you know, we are still alive and kicking! please drop in for a chat if you are available or have any questions 🙂

Heh, I would do if my MacBook's trackpad wasn't broken. Hope it's dirt underneath it or something instead of the battery, otherwise it's £110 to replace it.

ouch man - really? thats so frustrating! why not invest in a $10 mouse? 😛

LOL yeah, I need to, just haven't got round to it. I would rather have a laptop that has everything working though than using workarounds.

fair enough. well hopefully speak to you soon again! 🙂

For anyone who is interested, we're having a pre-Keynote chat in the IRC room 🙂

*didn't feel it was suffice to create a new thread

No idea what happened but if you whois the krono.net domainname it says it has expired and is on hold. Because of this there are no DNS records such as irc.krono.net. It expired on 11-dec-2011.

Is ipv6.kewlirc.net still operational (can't test it as I have to set up my IPv6 tunnel again, my infra is not ready for that yet)?

Still a nice amount of chatter happening folks, feel free to connect and have a good chat about loads of stuff!

🙂
