i was hoping that my bodyguardz side protector wouldn't have a negative impact on this case but i think it does. The buttons are not responsive and hard to press. I really want the sides protected after how my iP4 turned out with apple's bumper did to the sides. Then again without the case the buttons are still hard to press because the thickness of the side protector. i might have to remove the protectors itself and just remove it to have a bumper on. as much as i want this iPhone naked, i dont think i want to take the chance.

Just received mine this morning, and I must say, I am very pleased. $10 with next-day shipping is a bargain!

Sure, it's not as refined a product as something directly from Apple, but it's very close. Super light, with stunning good looks. The buttons work very well on the one that I received. I don't have to press any harder than I do without the bumper, including the sleep/wake button. The feedback from the button has changed a bit though. I like that the rubber edges are less grippy than the old Apple bumper, as it makes it much easier to slide in and out of my pocket. Haven't dealt with the Lightning connector issue, but I'm sure all it'll take is some quick razor-blade surgery to make it right.

I can't say that my case search is over, but the Monoprice bumper has definitely slowed things down a bit. ;)

Anyone have shots of the MP bumper in White? Or did I miss that page?

Thanks for the recommendations, guys!

Got my phone at 10am this morning (shocked ups came that early) and wanted to share my first impressions on the bumper. Got it for less than $10 and it is just what I was looking for! Exactly like the apple bumper for the 4S, but doesn't have the metal buttons. I thought the rubber buttons wouldn't give proper tactile feedback, but they work just fine :D

This is perfect for me because it gives front and back lay on table design and I can still see the awesome aluminum back.

Here are a few quick pics

Hope this helps others deciding on a bumper style case

Nice bumper looking to order one but got a question, does the bumper really say "Monoprice" along the bottom right side like ive seen on their website? Can you shave it off easily if so?

It does. Some have said rubbing alcohol will remove it. I haven't bothered trying to remove mine.

I bought the Monoprice Bumper as well and really like it. I also bought the Best Case Bumper from Target and didn't like it nearly as much as the Monoprice. The bumper from Target was not as thin.

Monoprice is da shizzz!

I finally received the Monoprice Bumper I ordered last week. This thing is awesome! I still can't believe how cheep it was.

Modification to Bottom of Case:

As others have stated, the lightning cable doesn't quite fit without a little work with an x-acto knife. I also used a small finger file to make my cut job look a little better.

Tip for Buttons:

I read where others posted having issues with the buttons being stiff and hard to press. I used the x-acto knife inside the case to carefully slit the sides of the buttons a little where they depress inside the case. This allows for the buttons to move a lot easier and thus my buttons all work with little effort.

Anyone looking for a cheep (Cost not Feel) bumper that is also very thin, this is the case to get!!!

can someone take the time to measure the thickness of their phone with the monoprice bumper?

thanks!

Thanks for getting back & sharing the tips!

For those people who wants a cheaper version w/o the monoprice tag (or cant order one cus they're not in the us), I just received this black one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/33079745556...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Feels exactly like the ones I used with my 4/4S, AND its got metallic buttons which has a really good feel to em!

if you don't mind: can you please measure the thickness of your phone in this bumper? (feel free to PM me if this is off topic since i know this thread is about the monoprice bumper)

Size:

Case = 9.5 mm (0.375 inch)
Phone = 7.6 mm (0.300 inch)

It's very thin!

thanks! looks like it would shave about 0.5mm off of my Belkin Candy sheer grip case (which i like although it obscures the beauty of the back of the phone)

I've installed my carbon SPG Skins. Looks great and no issues with the monoprice Bumper!

Here are some pics including one to show the thickness of the Bumper.

What's your best strategy for getting this FREAKING thing off? I feel like I have to fight it for five minutes every time?

Really? I just carefully start at one of the bottom corners and it comes off fairly easy from there.

I bought this case and have been using it since launch and I noticed its rubbing the plastic "vains" on the side of the phone and actually scuffed it a bit....:(

just thought i would share

I bought a black and a white based off the reviews here. What a piece of crap. I thought if it was at all similar to the Apple bumper quality, I would be happy. Not even close. It feels like a Chinese toy you get from Chuck E Cheese for about 50 tickets. I was ashamed to wrap my beautiful iPhone in this piece of junk. Learned my lesson. You get what you pay for.

Happy?

Here is my black iphone 5 Poetic bumper case, got it two days ago

Are you happy with it? I've been trying to stay naked (if you don't count the Invisible Shield), but I am nervous about my first drop....

It doesn't seem to add much size wise though, would you agree? thx!

To each their own I guess. I love mine, but I never had the apple bumper. I owned many cases for all gens of iPhones and they all seem cheap to a point, but this case is great, because it is the only case I have found for my 5 that let's me feel the phone for what it is. Thin and light.

Sorry your cases didn't work out.

Got my case today. I love it. It's a great value for the money. Fits snug and the port cut out is perfect as well. My USB cable and headphones fit well. Highly recommended.

Newsflash. The Apple bumper for the 4 felt like a Chinese chuck e cheese toy as well. The dimensions were just spot on.

All over news and forums.
Still some of us did like them.

I got 2 in the mail today.

They fit well and both the lightning plug and headphone plug fit well with no modification.

Its very thin and appears to be good quality.

Just hope it doesn't scuff the black iPhone 5 after a few weeks of use...

It's the best! Same setup as you and I'm loving it!

I bought this case a few weeks ago but I just got my iPhone 5 today. I'm having problems with the top lock button, the case seems to push down on the button and lock my screen randomly. I also keep getting the slide to power off screen...

I've taken the phone out and put it back in a few times but its still doing it. :(

I'm looking into buying a different case tonight.

Been using my white one since release day, however I'll be placing another order soon for the black (as I am getting the black 5 to replace my white one in a few weeks). I'm looking for the best invisible skin to protect the back of my 5 that won't interfere with the monoprice bumper. anyone have suggestions and/or are already using the type of combo I'm talking about?
