had one for over a month and had to cut the area around the connector to make it stay in.

contacted monoprice the other day and they sent out a new one for the hell of it,
it has a newer connecter design and less stiff buttons for the power and volume.

awesome cust. service!

I have the newer gen one. Never have problems connecting the lightning connector into it and it fits nice and snug with easy lock button access and button pushing. Although it is starting to get a little weak on the bottom near the connector port. Overall a B+ and I will continue to use it. Monoprice is a great little site and I will continue to go there for iPhone bumpers and screen protectors.

I've also been using this bumper case since launch day and have been very pleased.

For those with durability concerns, I accidentally dropped my phone from pocket height the other day onto my concrete garage floor. There was a loud sickening bang sound as the phone bounced off of one of the bumper case corners and then slid across the garage floor face down

Much to my relief the phone was completely damage free thanks to the Monoprice bumper!

The bumper itself got a flat spot on one corner and possibly a small hairline crack in the plastic at the point of impact so it will be replaced ASAP.

Long story short this Monoprice bumper CAN PROTECT your iPhone from corner impacts. I am extremely happy with the protection that it provides!!!

Can you show a pic of it? I contacted Monoprice today and they agreed to send me a new one due to the problems charging. Was a very smooth process, actually. Just called them and explained it and they said they'd replace it no problem.

Just received my new Monoprice replacement bumper today. They basically just removed the really thin portion of the bottom that was blocking the charger. Seems like it'll work fine now.

I just skimmed through the responses and am guessing my two following questions have been answered. Is it as thin as the iphone 4/4s bumpers? and if the port cut outs are good?

it seems the same thickness as the Apple bumper but it's better quality.
my i4 bumper made smudges all over the sides of the phone because it had plastic inside.
the monoprice bumper has only a small strip surrounded by rubber and does no damage to the sides of the i5.
also the cutouts are great.
