I suspect what it means is even lower priority for everyone with a phone ordered from Apple's online store.

I agree with the underlying suggestion that Apple's online store orders have lower priority, so they give priority to physical stores and other carriers.

Could be ******** (probably is) but a work buddy claims a friend of his (UK based like me) that ordered direct from apple has received his phone today.

It was to my knowledge that not one person in the UK has had an online order shipped yet.

My order from 00:01 certainly ain't shipping.

I think you're right it is b******t

Did a little research.

The people that ordered the earliest had a shipping estimate of 1-3 days.
Once that initial run was bought up, estimates showed 7-10 days, That's us, we're the "second wave group."

Last year's second wave had their phones shipped about one week early. Check out this thread. Second wave for the iPhone 5 was quoted October 5, but their phones started shipping September 21 with an estimated delivery date of September 27 or 28.

For anyone who happens across a unit of their preference in a brick and mortar store:

I stopped into an Apple Store today to see if they happened to have the 64 GB Space Gray iPhone for AT&T, and they did. I got with an AT&T rep over the phone to see exactly what would happen if I canceled my online order (7-10 business days, obviously). They said that my upgrade wouldn't come back to me for 3-5 business days (!!) but I decided that if it was this easy to walk into an Apple Store and get my preferred phone, I would go ahead and cancel my order to shave off some time on the wait.

15 minutes later, my AT&T account reflected that I was able to upgrade. Purchased the phone and was out of there.

YMMV

I'm really hoping we see a repeat of this this year. I'm impatiently waiting for my 7-10 day shipping. I'm not sure how when I ordered at 03:00 Mountain Time on the App stating 7-10 shipping days that it equals to Oct. 10-16??? That's almost three weeks!!!

I've been checking Apple stores here in Calgary; one has nothing at all, the other has only 16GB Space Grey.

*sigh*

----------

A quick question though; I originally requested it to be shipped to my home but now I'm thinking I want to ship it to my work instead. I'm just leery of screwing up my order and delaying it further.

Thoughts?

It is 7 to 10 business days, so that is up to 2 calendar weeks, and then I think they are considering a very slow delivery :) Hopefully it will be better than that, and depending on which phone you want you should be able to get it at a store before that. Perhaps that's what they are hoping.

I ordered the 16GB silver/white which is almost as scarce as the gold.

I forgot those dates are when it SHIPS, not when you should expect to receive it.

Honestly, I wouldn't be so impatient if I hadn't sold my previous iPhone the day before launch.

Kinda bummed at myself for how often I compulsively check this thread and my order status. I didn't even want it THAT bad! Ooof.

Hopefully it ships soon so I can return to not giving a hoot about my phone ASAP.

I also ordered my phone a couple of minutes after midnight on launch and got the 7-10 business days (7-10th) October delivery. I'm hoping to see some movement on the order around Friday. Fingers crossed they are delivered soon :D

The first batch of people in the UK got 7-10 days straight away.

As we are all looking for any shred of hope, the one "change" that I have seen is that I've had a pending $1 charge from Apple on my cc, and this morning that pending charge is gone. Could this be an indication that they may be about to charge my card for real??

Same thing happened to me yesterday mornin. Haven't been charged yet but I keep checkin!

I don't know what that means for you guys but I was charged the day I ordered mine from the UK online store.

Just called Apple to change my shipping address because apparently I've become such a compulsive ninny that I didn't want to do it online and make things worse in terms of shipping times.

They too gave me free priority shipping when asked. Just by asking for that and changing the address to my work, my expected delivery has been bumped up to 4 Oct - 9 Oct. Hooray for small victories.

I'm pathetic...HA!

Apple care can be purchased at anytime while the phone is still under warranty.

I've got my status page book marked and I'm frequently checking it.

Oh man, is this real life?

iPhones are different than Macs. After 30 days does require a little more than a simple purchase. Here is the info from Apple:

"How to get AppleCare+

Add it to your shopping cart during the checkout process when you purchase your new iPhone.
Buy it within 30 days of your iPhone purchase. Your iPhone purchase date is the date we ship and charge you for your order:

At an Apple Retail Store (requires inspection of your iPhone and proof of purchase)
By calling (800) 275-2273 (requires you to run a remote diagnostic and provide proof of purchase)"

You've joined the crew. Welcome.

I caused bit of a stir with that post. I was quoting the rules in Australia. Clearly it's very different in the States.

I turned down the Applecare on check out, 80 dollar is a lot of iOS apps and music. lolz.

Just woke up and the order status is still processing...

Come on, ship you bastard! SHIP!

I had no charge what so ever, still blank, on my CC. I think the $1 charge goes away automatically after a predefined period of time. Don't want to burst your bubble.

As for me, status, no change.. Sigh.

Dude, was your original delivery estimation 8 Oct. - 11 Oct. ?
And mine is still 8 - 11 Oct., should I call too

Lucky you. I suspect if I call, VZW will actually EXTEND the expected delivery date...
