Only if they opened up pre-orders as in previous years...lolz. I suspect quantity levels must be low.

I'm from Canberra, nothing happens here right? Rocked up to the Apple store at lunch time thinking it would be no problem to pick up a phone but they only had black 16 and 32 gb models left. Not wanting to compromise on the colour I wanted I decided to order online.

The Apple guy said there were 300+ people lining up, gold sold out in 20 minutes, white in an hour and black was available at least until lunch time.

Still, will be so pumped if the phone ships tomorrow.
 
Annoyed now

I originally thought that these dates were just worst case scenario. As they continue to ship 5s's to every store under the sun for direct in store sales I realized I am right where I was when I was on the "pre-order" list at AT&T with my 4s. At the back of the line. If you didn't get in the original stock Apple allocated to ship we're all stuck until they get iPhones to all the many electronics (brick and mortar) and phone co. retail stores. Screw you Apple. I ordered 15 minutes after the launch. It takes 3 weeks to make the next batch? No, it doesn't. I will survive. Just a phone. But they screwed those that didn't get their order in online by about 5 minutes after launch.

Dude its been 5 days... Drive to an Apple store if you need one right now.
 
It's a hell of a lot harder to track one down in stores vs just waiting for it. Trust me on that so out of everyone, we who ordered it are getting it pretty fast. There are no 16gb anywhere and everyone's getting 64s in if any. I finished my order in the first 10 min and I'm waiting with zero complaints.

Same here I'm patiently waiting for my gold 64gb AT&T phone. It's still processing with the 7-10 day group.
 
So longs as you can cancel it with the cancel button, that means nothing good will come for a couple of days

Is that a US order?

My 00:01 BST UK order still says:
Processing Items Available to ship: 7- 10 business days
Delivers: 07 Oct, 2013 - 10 Oct, 2013 by Standard Shipping
 
iPhone 5s 16GB space grey

Still processing here too:/ although my delivery date is the 8th of october to the 11th? Only ordered the 16GB space grey, hoping it might be dispatched tomorrow before the factory closes!

Also i live in the UK.

Apple store

I thought about going into an apple store to buy one this weekend, however there is a payment hold on the funds in my bank and if i was to cancel my online order I'm not sure how long it would take to clear and make the funds available?

Edit: no funds have been taken there just on hold and unavailable, i also ordered using my debit card.

How can you tell the funds are on hold? I dont see any such thing when i look at my credit card thing online

When i checked my balance with HSBC's online banking i had a £549 difference between my account balance and my available balance.

I knew that suggesting that Apple might be putting the locked in orders off for a couple of weeks while they push stock out to the brick and mortar to keep them happy would be met with derision and accusations from some of the sheep here.
And if I had time to go iphone hunting at the brick and mortars I would. Wake up. A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush for Apple. Don't expect them any earlier than they estimated.
