So catastrophic that Apple hasn't released an update to fix the "problems" yet...

Way to double down on what I'm hoping is a parody thread. I have spent inordinate amounts of time telling people the "bending iPhone" issue was BS, but come on. Apple just trashed tons of phones today. New phones that people got less than a week ago.

We are going to see a public mea culpa out of Apple that we have never seen before. I guarantee it.

The thing is, bugs are to be expected in any software release. If you've worked for a software company you know it is impossible to eliminate all bugs. Sometimes you just have to release what you've got, and hold some bug fixes until later. Most people know this, and yet it seems like a large contingency of people here are screaming about these bugs like Apple just made a fatal mistake.

Overall, iOS 8.0.1 is a stable, functional operating system. Android would kill to have the stability and fluidity in iOS. Let's stop perpetuating the Android fanboy memes about iOS and start using our brains a bit.

Tim,
It's kinda a big deal when you take the phone out of iPhone. No, a bug causing no service is no little issue. Some people use their phone for business. Some use it for selfies. Regardless, it's a communication tool, and when a tool can't do what it should, it's a big deal!!

What good is a hammer with no head on it?

I think you have no idea about change management processes in large companies. They take some time.

However, 8.0.1 -> worst case scenario. Removing phone capabilities from a cell phone.

Can you stop worrying about people complaining about the terrible iOS because Tim Cook is an idiot and Steve Jobs was GOD.

Tim Cook = Steve Ballmer going in the same direction as Microsoft.

There were some reports of people with 6 or 6 Plus phones that were with some international carriers or did the update via iTunes where they didn't run into these issues.

Called in Telus (Canada) to unlock my iPhone 5S, the rep. told me that they were flooded by calls because of the new update. The rep. told me that many people updated couldn't connect to the service.

Know grammar? "a idiot"???

Also, never knew Tim Cook designed iOS. LOL

Oh oh when someone does not agree with something a troll has to come out of their bridge and complain about grammar.

Also did not know Tim Cook did not care for the people who work for him who made the design.

The fix was to pull the update and have people revert back to 8.0 while they "investigate".

The fact you think it's minor is hilarious and no one here agrees with you. Now thats what actually funny.

When million phones are affected, Apple apologists will say "a very few phones affected"

When all phones are affected "you're doing it wrong"

They simply will not accept that a magical company like Apple can do some serious blunders.

iOS 8.0.1 clearly wasn't stable or functional as it rendered phones unusable as a phone!

Just accept Apple screwed up big time with 8.0.1 and hope they learn from it: Bugs are to be expected, but people should also be able to have a reasonable expectation that an update won't render their phone unusable.

Apple (or any other vendor) will rightly be called out for a cock up of this magnitude!

You know, they don't sell these phones only to people who pass a "faith in Apple" test. You have to live with the complaints. If there are complaints then something is not working.

8.0.1 killed the cellular service on my phone. I'll complain all I want as I now have a brand new £620 device that's a paperweight.

8.0.1 should NEVER have been released without it being tested properly.

Apple seriously screwed up and deserve to be ridiculed.

The force is strong with this one!

Several users? Hehe. An isolated incident indeed.

"Using our brains"?! Perhaps you should take your own advice on this one.

Are you from Mars or some kind of alternate reality?

What a joke.

People like you sometimes make me ashamed to buy and be seen with Apple gear.

Yea it only killed my cell service. Why did I complain????

According to morons in other posts you should be grateful to have received an update in the first place! The fact that it bricked your phone is apparently besides the point!

I have a feeling that the OP made this thread expecting to get applause from people that had no issues with the 8.0.1 update but it's backfired lol. Thus the reason he hasn't commented again.
Wrong forum. He would have had more success posting over at AppleInsider.

You do realize that it killed cellular service as well on the iP6/6+ yes? Pretty important feature for a phone dont you think? Especially given that folks who have those devices are only a few days old and now cannot be used.

Pfft, can't make calls on a phone? Who does that anymore, right?

Honestly they aren't going to and shouldn't stop complaining. This will make Apple work harder and proves that Apple users are very picky. Ever hear Android users complain about updates, sync errs, 5 hour battery life in their Nexus 5 >_>, crashing apps etc? Nope? Well I can tell you that happens, but since I don't care about the platform I don't give two F's. I'm guessing the same is true for the rest?

Btw, not complaining, honestly that's why I don't use my N5 or 7.
