I seriously hope Apple slows down on the yearly IOS and Mac OS upgrades, and instead focuses on all the bugginess and complexity of current software.

The company is seriously jeopardizing the "It Just Works" quality of (former) Apple products, and once that public trust is lost, it takes a lot to get back.

No kidding!
I realize there's a certain expectation for yearly refreshes, but I would much prefer a well-polished product that "just works".

I really hope the Apple TV gets updated with an app store. They would definitely have my money on that one.

I'm sure I'll get a watch as well, but I think it's going to be really annoying wearing it and having people ask me about it. I got the Pebble about a month ago, and almost everyday someone notices it and asks questions.

Ah yes, a rehash of past rumors with no new content. Does anyone else remember the day when MR actually had original sources and inciteful commentary? They didn't even bother to include the fact that the 2015 Apple TV update will use an A8 series chip with H.265 allowing half the data usage.

I am still looking for home kit to actually deliver some type of functionality. And a cable cutting Apple TV would be nice. Everything else here is just the usual upgrades - all welcomed, but not surprising.

I'm somewhat excited about the apple watch. Will have to learn more about it and price though.

Dream on. No iPhone can release without a major iOS release due to obvious marketing needs.

Eddy Cue only has half a day left to deliver on his "later this year, we've got the best product pipeline I've seen in my 25 years" promise

Perhaps he meant in the next FISCAL year. I hope so # (even though I love my iPad Air 2 and the think that the iPhone 6/6 Plus are great, aside from the 1GB of RAM still)

missing from list:
Bugs, bugs, and more bugs.

I'm completely fine with bugs. Bugs, bugs is tolerable. Bugs, bugs, and more bugs is what the problem is, especially considering that neither iOS 8 nor Yosemite was a major overhaul.

A utopia where software and technology doesn't have bugs will never exist, so stop dreaming of one.

I don't think anyone expects there to never be any bugs anywhere. For me at least, it's the introduction of bugs on things that used to work before that is frustrating and unacceptable. When you are adding new features, it shouldn't break or make worse (for a lot of users at least) as many things that used to work fine, especially in OSes that are as mature as iOS and Yosemite.

You are 100% right.

Though apple in the past set a standard for a certain quality level that allowed them, and it's fans to claim "it just works" as a slogan, and for a company with its current funding and resourcing, QA is lacking. There will always be bugs in software, though basics like Wifi that keeps dropping In your range of products that no longer have Ethernet Connections, when updating the OS is kinda poor..... My PowerBook 15 was a much better experience than my retina 15, to this date it was my best experience with a computer and made me switch.

Yeah Apple TV could use a good update. A real good update

It will get major loving when they work out how to make real money from it. Until such time, be happy that they still support it..... Kinda .

i still don't understand the watch. i get it but how much does it need the iPhone. If i go to a puck shoot for hockey. I can't carry my phone in my equipment but i could wear a watch to keep track of my heart rate etc... but then it won't work because it doesn't have the phone.

I wonder if people will be all over this watch or not

The iWatch looks very first gen, and that's not a compliment. You just know the 2nd gen will be at least half as thin, making the 1st gen one look like a total embarrassment to walk around with (sorta like those balding dudes still driving around their 1985 Ferrari).

I really want to plunk down money on a Macbook Pro but waiting for Skylake is gonna be a long wait indeed. 2.5k is too much to spend on Broadwell

A new appleTV with App Store has been needed for years. The current appleTV has a single core A5 processor. The current Apple TV was an insult, tech wise, when released, and you KNOW it's not going to support an App Store model. So I have not purchased, as apple has pushed me towards Chromecast.

Just release what is sure to be a huge seller - revamped appleTV with app support and innards that can support it.

Local John Lewis out of Airs and non-retina MacBooks.
“When are you getting new stock?”
“We're not getting new stock. We're expecting **new models** from Apple in January.”

Nothing to write home about in '15, except the epic sales fail of the watch. Watch this space!

I doubt the local john Lewis sales dude has the inside info on when apple will launch new products ;)

I'd put down £100 there will be no new products in January. Apple watch will be the first new product in 2015

I have a feeling the iPad Pro is going to be a laughable flop. I get the "bigger is better" motto, I love my 6 Plus, but a 12" tablet is so big I rather just bring a MacBook Air. The beauty of the iPad Air is how easily portable it is and easy to carry and hold. But slugging around a 12" tablet? LOL

The iPad Pro doesn't sound like a product that will sell tens of millions annually.

Apple Watch with barely one day battery and thick as a brick? I'll pass

It won't matter, even if it doesn't work well people will be camping out to buy it.

Innovation and Ideas?

Blowing the iPhone up.... putting lipstick and only a few innovative features out (air drop, hand off, etc) really fails to me to be innovation at Apple.

It was another year of more of the same. Shrinking things does not count, and that's all they've done. Something new or exciting in 2015 please.

This right here. Apple have always been poor with Wifi connections. Odd as they I believe brought it to the masses. Dropping Wifi has been a problem for years on all models yet, (in my experience), DOS boxes have always been fine.
