First Wave of Apple Watches Begin Shipping Ahead of Friday's Launch

No way possible you ordered @3am EST on the dot.., flood gates did not open until 12:01am PST. I ordered mine @3:02am EST and my confirmation is 4/24-5/8. Your delivery date might be because of the model number.
You mean I got all wet for nothing?
I could swear it had said "your order is being processed".

Ah.
I guess this means that, come Thursday or so, a few of us in the U.S. will be able to post pictures of our swanky just-arrived Apple Watch extra chargers (oooh! ahhh!) and lord it over everyone else in the place.
(Gotta take this luxury-product status where we can get it....)
I don't believe there is a problem with the actual functioning of the haptic feedback engine. But rather supply constraints. They just can't get them produced fast enough.

It's always said processing items since day one. even the people with June delivery dates. The next thing you want to see is "preparing for shipment"
Good to know. I do think it's amazing how well Apple manages such volume.
I just came across this article and thought perhaps they had a valid point.
"KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a Wednesday research note that the delay has been caused by production problems. According to the note, which was picked up by AppleInsider, he estimated that preorders would exceed 2.3 million units, but that deliveries wouldnt be completed until the end of May due to certain production hiccups related to the devices haptic vibrator and screen."

I love you so much. This is me EVERY SINGLE LAUNCH. I never feel as good as I do the day I'm waiting for UPS. Literally, after a box is opened, I hand the iPad/iPhone/MacBook whatever to my wife and say "here, check it out, it's awesome."
And it never gets exciting again until the rumors for next gen start again.

yeah, sort of. You put them on, they are minimally interactive. It's supposed to run through a demo of some of the features, like getting a text and allowing you to quick reply etc. and the such. all the ones I tried were "frozen" , and since I had already ordered I told the guy I had mine ordered and wanted to check them out and try them on to make sure the one I was getting was going to be adequate in size(it will be). I guess because I had ordered one he felt he didn't need to give me the whole "dog and [pony show", which is kinda what I was hoping to get, alas all I got was, "well you ordered one, so you know what it does" and he was right. I was pointing features and showing him how to use it.Not bragging, I had watched all the videos multiple times prior to going, so I had to explain to him what pushing the crown vs the button did.
TLDR: Was hoping for more of an EXPERIENCE trying the watch on in store, was super disappointed.
I'm hopeful that since my charging cable is now "preparing for shipment", my cc has been charged for it and it shows a possible arrival starting on Thursday (4/23) that my watch will follow the same timeline - "preparing for shipment" Tuesday, cc charged on Tuesday, and possible arrival on Friday (4/24). One can hope anyway.
I ordered my watch at exactly 3:01 EST and got a reply fof 4 to 6 weeks.

I've heard a few people say this but I think your clocks are slow... The site and app were not working till 3:02:51 and I got mine at 3:04 and got black and silver sport with the 4/24-5/8 window. I don't understand why it is for some and isn't for others.
I hope you get it MUCH MUCH sooner than the estimates you got. Fingers crossed for you buddy!

Yep that is exactly the time i could start ordering - the iphone apple store app was the first to take orders at just a few seconds before 00:03PST

Which model did you order. I ordered the 42mm with Milanese Loop. I received my confirmation email at 12:04:01am (PST). Neither my card nor Apple order status has changed.
I am just curious which ones appear to be shipping first.
