Why is it that the U.S. 'Big Three' release their best cars overseas, but not at home? (I define 'best cars' as those that are 'cool', but not so ridiculously expensive that only the very rich buy it, like the Viper and GT.)
fuel economy, narrow roads and streets, more expensive petrol, there's loads of reasons.
i'd much rather have a mustang here than most of these smaller cars, like the puma, fiesta, civic, etc, but because of the left hand drive / fuel economy thing, it'd be stupid.
so, i've got a nice little car that'll return 30 miles to the gallon motorway cruising, while being nice and nippy - under 5 seconds 0-60mph. - it's had some serious under cover work done to it. i love that it looks completely standard, but basically that's because the only really original parts are the body panels... 2.5 V6, 190bhp? it's been tinkered to: 2.8 V6, 375bhp+, lightened & strengthened chassais, huge air filters, direct exhaust, etc etc. i spent £2000 on new brakes in december, when it proved that the rather large brakes there already couldn't stop the beast too easily - and were almost at melting point. ok that was from high speeds, but who tunes an engine to nearly 400bhp to wander down a road slowly?
according to a few reports, the engine can be tuned to beyond 550bhp - i can't wait to see what that brings
😀
it goes like sh*t off a shovel - i can outrun almost anything else on the roads in this baby.
there's a few pics
here.
not bad for an eleven year old car!
