I gave up drinking soda after I read how bad it is for your health. I'm into the high-end Single Malt Scotch (as I've posted before) but on my budget I can only afford one every six months.

ahem, my choice:

...or, tap water, depending on my paycheck. ;)

Now that looks mighty tasty, mighty tasty indeed. I suggest Lagavulin, and of course the 18 year old Macallan, which is probably the best liquid I've ever had.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 16GB: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A93 Safari/419.3)

don't really drink alcohol any more having more less given it up as part of a health kick last year, so tend to be choosy what I do drink and stick to spirits (single malt scotch mainly). I am partial to a decent bottle of claret with a meal though :)

In the pub normally a pint of lager.
at home or a party has to be Jack and Coke.
With a meal Red wine.

However could live without lager and wine but not without Jack and Coke.

for cocktails it's very likely Gin Fizz
just never get's old though i mostly take the easy route when partying and go for lemon soda + a bt of lemon juice, instead of mixing sugar + lemon juice + sparkling water and

Grey Goose Martini, Extra Dirty
Makers and Coke
Guinness

Of course, I haven't had a drop to drink since November. No biggie.

I went to the University of Texas, so I'm no stranger to partying.

Maker's over ice.

I'm not a fan is Islay malts - I've got the Laphroiag and Bowmore, and have really got to be in just the right mood to have any. They're waaay too peaty for me as general rule... I'd like to try the Lagavulin at some point, but it's ways down my list of 'to buys'

and

Ayinger Bräu Weisse

Both are wonderful wheat beers, nice complexity and relatively low abv. And yes, I am the guy that brings his own beer glasses to parties.

I pretty much like most anything, except for peaty scotches.

I drink my fair share of Red wine and all sorts of beer. I like the Belgians the most. A good English beer that I really enjoy is Tanner's Jack.

I am a big whiskey fan. Love the Jameson and also the Crown Royal.

As far as vodak goes give me a Grey Goose Martini, Dirty anyday.

I just very recently had a Makers on ice and it was very yummy!!

For the most part when it comes to drinking I really don't discriminate  except for tequila.

Ohio State University here. Usually I am a rum and coke kinda guy. If I know it is going to be a long night or I need a quick pregame it is grape smirnoff and red bull. They taste like welch's grape soda. Delish.

You, my friend, are a star!!!

Have you tried the Doublewood or Founder's Reserve?
The latter being very cheap and very drinkable.

I'm rapidly getting through my single malts. I have 5 different ones with less than 1/4 left in each bottle.
Oban
Jura Legacy
Talisker
Jura Superstition
&
Balvenie Doublewood

I've tried Oban by the glass, and it's good, but not exactly to my taste - then again I didn't have time to nose it well enough either since it was in a restaurant; I may like it better if I can take my time with it.

The DoubleWood was my first Balvenie purchase - which goes excellently on a cold winter evening. I have yet to try my palette at the Jura tho'

My current collection (not really that old, I might add... a year or so is all)

- 17 yr Balvenie Single Wood - limited release bottling. I'm saving this for a special occasion
- 15 yr Dalwhinnie
- 12 yr MacAllan
- 12 yr Glen Livet
- 12 yr Balvenie DoubleWood
- 12 yr Glen Moray (cheap, but worth it I'd say for a quick snifter now and then)
- 10 yr Laphroiag
- 10 yr Talisker
- 10 yr Glenmorangie
- 10 yr Bowmore
- 10 yr Auchentoshan - lowland distillery
- I think there's one or two more but I can name it off my head... I italisized my favourites

I'd like that list to be longer, if you know what I mean :D

Zombie Tara

A drink my friends and I made up and named after a friend who lived near a graveyard, anyway:

shot of rum
shot of vodka
shot of Hypnotique

Good times.

To have with dinner, or while watching a football game on TV... cheap beer (Milwaukee Best Light generally does the trick).

With a fancy dinner with the wife... white wine (Riesling).

I don't do the cocktail thing very much, but I guess Jim Beam and Coke would be at the top of that list.

Coffee is really the only liquid drug I abuse.

Mine is a Cosmopolitan, made with fresh cranberry, limes, Cointreau and Stolichnaya Elit shaken with lots of ice.

It's my drink, and it's delicious.

Edit: And that's a picture of my drink, in my glass, on my table, in my house.

Regular, plain old Coca Cola. (Too young to legally drink;)) Pear cider does quite well too.

Edit: Sambuca is good.
