I still have mine... won't work unless it stays plugged in but I still have it!

After researching, Apparently these are refurbed 1st gen iPods that are for sale. The model # matches one I found on a different reseller's site.

I've always wanted a first gen iPod. (I actually have one, but it's non-functional.:() I went ahead and ordered this to see what happens. If it's not what I'm expecting I can always return it.

I saw this on TUAW and really want one. Stupid college, stop stealing all my money away from gadgets.

this is really cool... the original iPod would really stand out compared to the millions of new ones out there!

But why is the picture of a 3rd gen? which one do you actually recieve? :s

I just talked to an Apple rep and they told me that they are not available and they are working to solve the problem.

I asked the person I was chatting with if it was a 3rd gen or a 1st gen, and she said that it was the first gen. Then I was like "Are you sure, the picture shows a third gen, but the description shows a first gen".

She gave me to the Older iPod database on the Apple website.
I was like okay, and ended the chat.

this has made my week, i haven't had such a good laugh for ages thanks to those that ordered ":D
I must admit though this is an unbelievably cool move by apple and a great publicity stunt lol. Mind you all we need now is for balmer to re release Windows 95 as windows 7 :D
