With the added performance benefits and smaller OS footprint (save up to 7GB of space) OS X Snow Leopard seems to be the ideal choice for someone with a SSD and anyone who wants a faster Leopard :)

Picking it up from my reseller at 8 am my time (0 am US time, getting it 8 hours before Americans :D). Can't wait!

There is already a giant thread about this on the first page, but its cool :D

I preordered it. AAPL isn't having any fanfare so no reason for me to make the trek to my local AAPL store. Should make my x25-m xtra speedy.

I'm really jacked up about saving 7GB of space since space is at a premium for me. I am also interested to see what my boot time will change to :D

17 seconds at worst for boot time so far... hope it cuts that down in half for SSD users :D

Can't wait to have my 9600M GT assist in more than just graphical use.

I was going to wait, but the whole faster sleep thing kinda pushed me over. Mostly so i can shut the lid and not have it take forever for the sleep to kick in while everyone else is rushing out of class(and rushing past me)

gonna wait a few weeks. just got my MBP in July and the uptodate discount is good til december so i'll see how things go for everyone.

perfectly happy with regular 10.5.7 as of right now :) runs like a charm

Soon, Macrumors is going to be clogged with snow leopard threads. Not sure why people need to starting new ones. Guess it makes them feel special to create their own topic even though it is the same as all the others.

Not a chance, my MBP is my production machine and my other two macs are G4s so I am either waiting for 10.6.1 or 6.2 or getting a mac mini as a test rig/sidestep from my MDD server

Don't expect any big speed boosts from SL, I've been running it for a week or so and it's made almost no discernible difference in speed.

Anyone know how Apple is going to launch Snow Leopard? Will it be available the morning of or will they close the stores and reopen like they did with Leopard (I don't know if that was done at all stores but I know the one at Yorkdale (GTA) they closed it down and reopened)

It will be available when they open.

None of the above. I'm waiting to see what the verdict of CS3 compatibility is. If the will offer a compatibility update then I'll get SL asap. I can't afford even the student price of $170 for CS4 PsE right now. Textbooks have stolen all my money.

does snow leopard come with some new and really amazing desktop background pictures of snow leopards??

Soon? Have you seen the boards starting yesterday?! :p:rolleyes:

This entire place will be one huge facepalm for two weeks.

In case anybody cares. I'm going to post photos and a video of snow leopard booting on my 15" MBP with a 128gb corsair ssd. I'm getting the MBP, snow leopard, and ssd on Friday and I should have it done and ready by Friday afternoon.

Really, I've been running it on mine, and applications seems to launch faster, and startups and shutdowns are way faster.

At least in my testing, both PS and AE CS3 work just fine. Can't tell you about the other apps for sure, but I'd bet they work just fine too.
