Not really looking forward to this. All I ever get is ****** (wow, the "goat" is a bad word? Crazy) or other horrible "funny" pics from my friends.

Anyway, have I missed the, "wow you iPhone users must be happy getting a decade old technology. Derrrrrrrrr." yet?

I email photos all the time and they look great. MMS is just low quality images. Why does everyone have their panties in a bunch over this ancient functionality that is out of date by 4 years?

Well, in my case, I have friends who like to MMS me (because their phones do not have Internet and that's all they can do to send an image), and it's very inconvenient on the receiving end not to have MMS.

I use MMS buddy from the app store, which helps, but it's still not that great-- no fault of the developer, who I thank for stepping into the breach and who did a really good job given the situation. It's just that AT&T set up a clumsy workaround for receiving MMS images.

Hey AT&T, Can you please fix your network so I can make phone calls and access the 3G network? I get 'No service' at my new address... and when i emailed you, you said I was lying. When is the iPhone coming to Verizon? Hurry, Please...

Haha, good to see I'm not the only one who they blamed. Got my phone and it initially had 3 bars at my house. A year later when they rolled out their 3G network it dropped to 2 bars. A few months ago it then dropped to 1/0 bars. They blamed me, Apple and my trees. Apple gave me a new phone to prove it wasn't them. I wonder if after MMS is turned on I can go to negative bars?

Everyone who is moaning over the 25th not officially being in summer needs to get a life. MMS has to be THE most useless feature ever on a cell phone, regardless of type. What in the world could be so freaking important/funny/interesting that you have to share a picture of it with all your buds? I guess you folks are excited because you can send a picture of a stop sign to your GF or BF with a cute message " couldn't stop thinking about u" or some other earth shattering bit of pap. It will be one more stupid thing for people to do whilst driving, making the road ways even safer than they are now.
Oh yeah, for all the folks who think Verizon is the best thing since sliced bread, the reason there is no iPhone for you is Apple, like the rest of the world, passed on CDMA. Years ago. When Verizon moves into the 21st century technologically, maybe they will be able to offer an iPhone. And maybe they will fix final billing from 5 years ago where they still owe me a $47.98 refund. yeah, Verizon is freakin' fabulous - NOT.

Is summer pregnant?

WHERE IS MAH TABLET????!!!!11?11/?!/?!11???!!!

DOES THIS ALSO MEAN WE WONT SEE ANY BUNNY PICS? on MMS post??

I like the woman's puzzled smile in the AT&T image. Like, "Wait... did that actually work?"

I hate to say this, but he does kind of have a point. The contract is a 2 way street.

Yes but does your contract say that you will have MMS by late summer? I haven't read mine that carefully, but I seriously doubt it. What AT&T says in an ad or a keynote presentation does not become part of your contract.

If anything, this is false advertising, not a breach of contract. And even if you could prove a claim for false advertising, you're faced with the problem of proving damages. What do you think you can prove for losses based on receiving the ability to send MMS 3 days late? Because I'm thinking approximately $0.

They're all worthless really well I hear better things with verizon so maybe go with that but all cell phone carriers are working in the same boat, pretty corrupt if you ask me.

I know... that's the biggest downside to all of this. Even if the iPhone becomes available on Verizon, all the phone companies are corrupt and evil. I can't stand AT&T, but then again, I don't know if it'll matter.

What ever happened to the rumors of Apple starting their own service? :(

If they are your friends, shouldn't they know that the iPhone doesn't get MMS?

Am I supposed to call everybody I've ever known and warn them I bought an iPhone? I don't expect anybody to give a damn what kind of phone I have, and I sure don't contact everybody I know to tell them; most people expect that if they send me a picture, I'll get it, as any other phone would. now if I suddenly took ownership of a Lamborghini, I'd consider letting all of them know, but this is just a cell phone..

Get a Life

I bet 99% of you complainers will use MMS once or twice on the 25th, get bored with this feature, and move on.

Hmm. Very good points. I side with you now.
Att would use the contract defense that "hey, its not in the contract nany nany booboo"
And legally, there are no proof of damages. Maybe emotional, but you'd be really stretching it.

What ever happened to the rumors of Apple starting their own service? :(

Weren't those rumours about Google? And that they were going to do free nation wide WiFi type of service. And that the "google phone" was going to be a VoIP device?

Ah man ... those were some juicy rumours. I miss those days.

refund!

Anyone who thinks we should get refunds cause we've been paying for functionality that we didnt have for the last two and a half years say I!

We've been working for the past several months to prepare our systems and network to ensure the best possible experience with MMS when it launches

TRANSLATION: We've just upgraded our system to maintain the same level of suck given the increased traffic of MMS

They not as into Macs, or technical minutiae, as people on this forum, and it would be rather antisocial to tell them not to send me pictures because my phone doesn't have MMS, when in fact there is a workaround.

Also, the post I was responding to asked why anyone cared, and I gave one valid reason. No need to *roll your eyes*, which is rather impolite.

I take back every bad thing I have ever said about AT&T and their unreliable service... *wink* ;) just kidding!
