I wonder if when we will see tethering? Winter of 09?
Psychokinesis? What are you on an island or something?
Sure I'll drop it in a liquor bottle with a message on it stating your bill![]()
AT&T lies! They said by end of summer. Summer ends Sept 22. Apple really needs to end their exclusive agreement with these idiots!

I think this is a great idea. Lets all break AT&T's network AT&T D-Day
Agreed. And coverage. And reliability.Ugh. Not only do I not want MMS, I'm actually dreading this because I fear what it will do to AT&T's already pathetic 3G speeds (getting under 400 kbps in downtown Boston). I know they get a ton of crap for not having MMS, but network speed is about 100x more important.

"MMS will be enabled through a software update on that day." --Does this imply that the OS 3.1 Update will be available on Sept.25? Maybe. We will probably learn about this during Apple's Media Event. MMS is "Media."
"AT&T points to the need for the company to build out its network infrastructure to handle the demands of heavy MMS messaging volumes"
Enjoy your fast internet connection while it lasts. It will soon grind down to dial-up speed.
Apple should be introducing a word of caution to iPhone users: "it's up to you. don't send 50 billion MMS every day, or your network is going to be super slow. be responsible."
MY BROWSING SPEED IN SAFARI IS NOW GOING TO GRIND TO A SNAILS PACE BECAUSE OF ALL THE PEOPLE SENDING THOUSANDS OF MMS PHOTOS OF THEIR CATS ALL DAY LONG !!!!![]()
Yes but does your contract say that you will have MMS by late summer? I haven't read mine that carefully, but I seriously doubt it. What AT&T says in an ad or a keynote presentation does not become part of your contract.
If anything, this is false advertising, not a breach of contract. And even if you could prove a claim for false advertising, you're faced with the problem of proving damages. What do you think you can prove for losses based on receiving the ability to send MMS 3 days late? Because I'm thinking approximately $0.
This worries me. I'm leary of updating my phone to 3.1 for fear of it disabling Tethering, which is essential to me. So do I suck it up and deal with no MMS? It kills me that it requires a software update. Why can every other carrier allow MMS on 3.0, and AT&T's band of foam hat wearing retards requires a software update? Likely a strongarm to disable those who turned on tethering.
Damnit I hate AT&T so much. I wish they'd lose the exclusivity already
I am only 4 hours South of there...count me in!

Now I can party like it's 1999! Who cares about sending pictures by email, now AT&T can charge me to do it!
