What should i choose? i have heard that the 7200 makes the machine pretty loud an makes it shake quit a bit. Also it should drain battery noticabely...

I took the 7200 rpm. As said previously, the current faster disks does not seem to drain more power.It is in the new macbook pro. I just dont now wich to order. so the drive would come from apple![]()

My previous MBP was totally silent. Since the HDD is a huge bottle neck just get the 7200. I think 5400 rpm are just too slow.Thanks, what about noise?

Would selecting a SSD hard drive make the laptop run cooler? I assume the 7200 would run hotter than a 5400. (Like I said "assume")
I know sometimes laptops can sometimes burn your legs off when they start getting warm.
If you are going to do the HD upgrade to 7200 yourself to save like 400 bucks...
