Who's Buying a New rMB Without Trying it Out

Considering Apple takes everything back and gives you a full no questions asked refund.. I'm not sure why anyone would waste time going to a store to check it out. Unless you're bored and need to get out of the house, then I can understand why someone would go to an Apple store. 
I plan on buying one.
I see the author of this thread is going to order the 1.3 ghz version. Do you have any idea what the price might be? If the 1.2 with the bigger ssd is $1599 US, what might the 1.3 be?
BTW for those who don't like to read the fine print the battery life was tested using the faster CPU and bigger ssd with some pretty tough testing. Unlike many other brands who publish optimistic battery life the rMB should hold pretty true to what is advertised.

No not me, I will be heading to Apple on the 10th with a "loaded" drive and see exactly what the new MacBook can deliver. Hopefully I will be going home with a Gold 512, if not a second 13" MBPr...

Exactly. I plan on buying from Apple, loading up my Time Machine backup and seeing how it performs after a few days of use.

The Apple store is 5 min from my work and I want to see if the keyboard and, more importantly, screen size is sufficient for me and compare with the 13" MBA. That's easier for me than buying both the rMB and the MBA and returning the one i don't want.
Also, some people like going outside and not stuck behind their computer screens every once in a while
I am planning on ordering a space gray base model, but with the BTO 1.3 CPU, so i will have to wait a few days longer
My current plan is to spend a few minutes checking out obvious big picture things in the store (keyboard, for example). If nothing is a clear problem, I'll buy one and check it out thoroughly during the return period.

If you are buying by the numbers, you are right.
But lots of people thought the first iPhone5 gold was gangster gawky, little did they know when seeing it live, it's actually a very civilized champagne gold.
I dunno what's the rush, some people can't wait a few days, there is nothing else happening in your lives?
I kind of feel the same way but I'm slightly concerned about the keyboard being awkward to type on since there's less travel distance. I know people say you will eventually get used to it but who knows.
This is one that I will try out at my local Apple store before purchasing. Most new products/major changes I order ~ 1 to 30 days in. For the MB, I expect to order it within the first week. I do, however, discount the obsessive whiners and complainers during that period.
Awesome return policy = you can try it out at home.
You don't need to "trust Apple" if they built an awesome machine. You can find out for yourself.
Since 2006 I've never had to return any iDevice because I thought I got shortchanged. However you can be sure that if any future Apple purchase doesn't put an ear-to-ear smile on my face, I won't even second-guess about sending it back. There's always the next one!
I suspect it may be difficult to adjust to the new keuboard.
At first, when they introduced the new keuboard during the keynote, I was excited about the bigger keys. After thinking about it more, I started to wonder if the lack of space between the keys might make touch typing MORE difficult.
One thing is for certain, though, I'm sure I can get used to it and get good at it. I will use it 8+ hours per day at work and then probably a few more hours at home too. I will become an expert either way!

Well, I probably will wait until B&H Photo offers some discount, which should be about a month after release. But I am willing to buy it without seeing it otherwise.
It's not like MacBook represents an uncharted territory for Apple. It's a next logical evolution of what Apple has learned from MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. If you can live in 1 USB-C port limitation and slower CPU/GPU processing power, I honestly don't see much downside.
I'm still happy with my 15" Macbook Pro Retina from 2012. I'd like something smaller and lighter but I'm willing to wait another 2 years. I'd like to see how much the technology improves with the Retina Macbook in addition to wireless technology and peripherals.
