Hey everyone,
I needed a solid screen recorder, so I built one. Feedback has been very positive so far, so I wanted to share it here:
BetterCapture is a menu bar screen recorder for macOS. It's built with SwiftUI and ScreenCaptureKit, uses the native Content Picker to select what you record...
Has anyone tested the M1 series computers with legacy 480i Pro Res 422 LT? I know the Apple silicone chips are optimized for Pro Res just not sure how they handle smaller resolutions such as 480i?
Also does Final Cut Pro support 480i and export to H264 as well as MPEG 2?
Thanks
Hi,
I have taken some ProRes videos whilst on holiday but I want to convert them to H.265 but keep the metadata the same so they stay in place in the photos app. Is there a way of doing this? I tried Final Cut Pro but it changed he metadata to the date of the conversion.
I've been thinking about playing around with ProRes with my iPhone15Pro but I need additional storage.
Anyone aware of any USB-C memorysticks that are compatible with iPhone15Pro and 4K@60 AND are small? I've found a few small USB-C sticks but the specs seems too bad to be useful it seems. I am...
Hi All,
I had my iPhone 15 Pro attached to a Samsung T7 SSD 1TB drive and set up in a Small Rig cage. Battery at 90%. Cable is the best and I tested it the previous day by allowing it to record a straight 1 hour. File size was about 600gb. No problems. No heat. Looked amazing.
Then I tried it...
Who here has recorded video directly on to an SSD? If so, what is your experience?
Today I recorded test footage to my Samsung T7. During inspection I noticed that there was 3 seconds of Sutter in the video. This has now made me wary of recording to an SSD and instead sticking to the iPhone's...
Looking at the base 15, and from a video recording standpoint, if you are not shooting ProRes or Log, is the base model the way to go? How important is the "second gen" image stabilizer on the 15 Pro, i.e. does it really matter all that much?
Apple tech specs:
Counting down to tomorrow's 15 Pro release and excited to test out the new video workflow capabilities with the USB-C port.
Details have been muddy around specs/requirements for ProRes video recording to external storage. From what I've gathered, the only known requirements at this point are...
Anyone know if the external storage recording supports only for 4k pro res recording? Or does it work with regular quality video recording also?
Also wondering if ProRes recording is ONLY available on external storage. Or can it record ProRes 4K 30p onto internal storage like the 14Pro? If it...
I really l o v e the ProRes option on my 14 PM but only have the 2 TB storage option on my iCloud. So for the most part I shoot "everyday things" to friends and family, coffee break, things I find in stores and have questions about and so on. That is approximately 70% of all my images.
I never...
As for 13 Pro, you have to go for 256GB or higher.
How much longer before 256GB (at least Pro models, Samsung top tier models) becomes a standard? (!RemindMe 5 years "Is the 256GB future now?")
Just read that Apple kept the limit on ProRes (1080/30 only) for the 128GB model of the 14 Pro. I just pre-pre-orderd a 128GB model because that's about all the storage I ever use on my 11 Pro. For those of you using the 13 Pro has the option to shoot 4K ProRes been worth upgrading to 256GB? I...
Does anyone know if iPhone 14 Pro phones too have ProRes limited to 1080p for 128GB models? Didn’t see that mentioned anywhere, including footnotes. Hopefully that limitation is not there this year.. 🤞
Yes, the new MBP are amazing powerhouses. While the choice of HDMI 2.0 instead of 2.1 have caused some discussion, it feels there is an even bigger “missed” opportunity by Apple to provide massive value to a large part of their customers at low to no added cost.
At least I can‘t find any...
This is HUGE Apple-related news in regard to professional users. Apple has licensed ProRes encoding to Adobe for use on Windows. Holy crap! I never in a million years thought this would ever happen. https://theblog.adobe.com/adobe-pro-video-apps-now-support-prores-export-on-windows/
