VMware Fusion will not launch Snow Leopard install for VM

I have a copy of my Snow Leopard install DVD on ISO (I used PowerISO under Windows 10 in BootCamp to rip it). When I try to launch it in VMware Fusion 11, Fusion says that it doesn't recognize the OS as Mac OS X Server. I have looked this up, and I still have no idea why it would say this, other...

VMware Boot Camp install fails under Fusion 11.5, use v10 to create VM config

I had some disk issues and ended up replacing my BootCamp installation by backing it up with Winclone, installing a new disk and restoring. I just used Disk Utility to create a GUID exFAT disk making sure I had a hybrid MBR, since my Mac Pro 5,1 runs best with BIOS boot. After I got Windows 10...

VMWare Fusion BootCamp loading - solved

I was able to load BootCamp installations on VMware Fusion under Mojave and earlier versions of Catalina by giving VMware Fusion full disk access. That does not seem to be working any longer. VMware can unmount but not access the disk. Has anybody seen this and found a work around?

Install OS X 10.9 on VMware Fusion on newer MacBook

My MacBook Air came with macOS Sierra, and I know that I can't install an older macOS on that (reference: How to install OS X 10.9 on a new Mac mini loaded with OS X 10.11), but I don't know why I can't even install it on VMware Fusion as VMware Fusion does show up OS X 10.9 as one of its Guest...

Mojave Guest on VMware Fusion Tech Preview 2018?

Has anybody managed to install a Mojave Guest on the VMware Fusion Tech Preview 2018? It is supposed to support it from a fresh install, but the installer refuses for an unsupported video card on a MacBook Pro 2018 natively running Mojave.

iMac Pro - Parallels or VMware Fusion

While I used Macbook and iOS devices for quite a while, I just moved as my main machine from a 6 core i7 Windows to iMac Pro (10 core, 64 GB RAM). I couldn't be happier with the switch with the power of the machine and how quiet it is. However I have instances where I still need some Windows...

How to restore 10.12.x in VMware Fusion 10 using 10.13.2?

I need to be able to restore a Time Machine backup of 10.12.x and 10.11.x so I can review the entire drive's data. I'd prefer to be able to do this using VMware Fusion 10 Pro to make things easier than having to do this to a hard disk or SSD drive. Current setup: 10.13.2 (High Sierra) on a...

Cannot install macOS or OSX in VMware Fusion!

I have several Windows VMs in Fusion 8.5.8 working without any problems. I am needing to create a new VM with macOS or at least with OSX El Capitan. Will High Sierra run a VM faster with a 2013 Macbook Air?

I run a Macbook mid 2013 1.7 with 8Gb ram and I'm holding off on getting a new Macbook Pro with Kabby Lake because I upgraded to Windows 10 and the newest version of VMWare Fusion and Windows runs pretty good and Visual Studio (latest) runs pretty good as well inside the VM. With all previous...

    Vmware Fusion Repartition Fail

My husband has VMware Fusion installed on his Macbook Pro. He initially allocated a lot of space to the Windows partition, thinking he would use it. VMware Fusion and Sierra

Has anyone experienced complete UI freeze using VMware and Sierra? Not sure the cause, but I'm seeing it a few times a week. I suppose the solution would be to reinstall OS along with VM tools, but thought I'd check. The symptoms are total UI failure even thought the systems in the...

2016 - VMware Fusion vs Parallels vs...

I am just curious as to what folks here are using for hosts for virtual Windows (7-10) machines here and if they found any challenges or peculiarities. I'll start by saying that the Parallels interface is more "Mac friendly" and that Fusion is more streamline if not Spartan in appearance. One...
