Ain't that the truth.

I like to thank everybody that participated in this thread. It was great season. I'm sure we'll light this thread back up once draft and trades are made.

Yes.

I loved seeing Selanne lift the cup and then bawl like a baby. Not a Ducks fan, but I am a Selanne fan. Congratulations Ducks! Great game.

Selanne deserved it. It was like watching Borque lift. It sent chills down my spine. I still remember the call Gary Thorne was perfect, "Ray Borque! Stanley Cup Champion at least"

He did deserve it, and if he retires after this, at least he went out a champ. Truly a wonderful sight to see. God I love hockey!

Spoken like a true fan of the game!

This is the only time you'll ever see an Islander and Ranger fan get along :p

The game is first, everything else is second.

Such a shame that our great sport is not watched by many, they really don't know what they're missing.

We can always get along because I respect you as a fan of the GAME. The ONLY game.

The only other person I know who even remotely cares about hockey is my boyfriend and his mom. They are fanatical and the reason I got into hockey in the first place. They took my to my first game a few years ago and I haven't looked back since. :D

My father watches it sometimes so we can talk about it. I think he just likes that his daughter is crazy about SOME sport (ahem the ONLY sport..).

OH PS:

And I respect you too, that is until we play each other :p

Ahhh your bf and his mom are true fans, I see they have done an excellent job (with the exception of team) raising a new NHL fan. My hat goes off to them!

Yea, my parents try to be proactive with the entire sports scene. It doesn't work at all. I'm a very passionate hockey fan, they don't seem to understand why I take it personally when my team loses.

She's a Preds fan (since we live in Nashville) and he's a Blues fan (YUCK -- that's like being a Cubs fan...I guess someone has to love the team that never wins). But they took me to my first NHL game, and he took me to a few minor league games when I was living in Knoxville. He hates that I'm a Rangers fan, but he bought me a jersey anyway :p

My dad will get really into a hockey game with me but at the end of the day he doesn't care who wins or loses. Now football, that's a different story....ugh.

There is a God!!! No More Yashin!!! Link!
i take it your not a fan of him, lol. What a waste. I saw Newsday on my kitchen table turn over on the front cover of the sports and saw the decent news for you fish-stick fans ;) jk

Good game... The second period was exciting to watch. Can't wait till september to have it all start again...and hopefully in aprox. 365 days i'll be at MSG cheering for the rangers to win "Jagr come get the stanley cup" :D

Gee what gave that away  :p ? Such a waste of time and money. I think I might frame the back page of the Newsday. It's a collectors item.

Jagr doesn't deserve to win the Cup (.... again) He turned into such a douche bag.

I back this.

You would :p

Please you know it's true! What kind of captain decides he doesn't want to play in the shootout? He almost cost the Rangers their season.
SHHHH he might hear. All season I just told myself that he was still injured from the previous season to explain why he wasn't at the top of his game.

You think Wang will have it as a give-away on opening night to remind the fans?

Or until the Post starting attacking him :p

Is the cup ever going to come back to Canada where it belongs? We've had a team in the finals the last 3 seasons with no cup, what does it take?

Congrats to the Ducks especially Selanne and the Niedermayer brothers.

Hopefully the Leafs can get their act together for 07-08.

Well hockey fans, the season may be over but Free Agency starts today in a few minutes at 12pm EDT.

According to the Isles website, our wish list is rather big:

Islanders.com said:
The Islanders’ wish list is deep: at least two top-six forwards, a top-four defenseman and depth for both the Islanders and the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers

I hope they can get the Symth deal done and get somebody that they want. It's clear that the ownership wants to win. And the showed that so far by buying out Yashin's Contract (Thank Friggin' God!)

Make me proud Isles!

Sorry Cowboy, you've lost Briere and Drury will be gone too. At least you have a good farm system. Philly picked up Briere for 8 yrs/$52Mil

Rafalski inked with the Wings for 5yr/$30Mil

There have been some other transactions as well

Link to TSN.ca

The Isles lost Poti and Zednik so far.

Oh man I want Drury on the Rangers so bad. I'm going to be watching that live contract feed religiously. :D
