Just shamelessly bumping this thread to remark that's it's just a fortnight away, woohoo! And that anyone who can get to the capital for an afternoon in the park on the 7th of July is most welcome.

By the sound of things, we might have 2 dozen or even more people turning up through the afternoon, so the more, the merrier. :)

Just as a recap: look out for a group of people near the signs with the happy Mac Finder face.

From about 1pm or so, we'll be near the lake, but back from it, somewhere around about here, give or take a few tens of yards or so.

About the park and how to get there.

Bring picniccy things, bring your iPod, bring a mate. Hope to see you there. :)

:D

Please may I come too? I promise to behave. Please?

Bit of a long shot, but is anyone who knows sign language planning to come? (British sign, American sign, whatever?) Would be rather nice if t'was so.

I have a very small understanding of BSL but after a few pimms no one will be able to understand me anyhow so come along.

Of course. You don't even have to ask. We'd be disappointed if you weren't there. :)

Twenty or thirty-something of you, one of me.

Isn't that how the Pimms ads used to go? ;)

Know somebody that just moved to London from Austin and works for
Dell in coporate communications...call over there, ask for Clara and
invite her! She's cool.

Corporate comms for Dell? Why don't you send her the link to this thread... ;)

I just brought a litre bottle of Pimms yesterday :)

It's brill you have a little BSL, it really does help a lot!

Unfortunately I've just been reminded by my partner that I'm committed to going to a friend's kiddies birthday party on the 7th july in Swindon. Our deaf kid will play with their many deaf kids while us deaf adults will get pissed on Pimms and sign silly things to each other and and enjoy his barbie skills and invade the kids' bouncy castle.

So I'll be with you in Pimmical spirit if not in body.

An interpreter matey told me he was trying to persuade Apple Regent street to hold a few terped workshops in their lecture theatre for deaf Mac users. The plans were progressing well but got nixed recently :(

I will be there

I'm coming from Copenhagen for a vacation on the July 6th so I will drop by the 7th in Regent Park with some drinks, and some mates. Looking forward to it - my first picnic with mac'o'holics :D

Alcohol, maybe some food. An iPod (if you have one).

Maybe a Frisbee, ball or something like that.

I may not be a Mac user, but I sure as hell have an iPod. I plan on evolving into a Mac user some time in the next two months.

Well, I'm probably going to get horribly lost on my way there, even with my guide jew... I mean... psychofreak taking me there.

Can us the non-londoners expect a photo roundup of the event after the attendees get over their hangover?:D

The "normal" rules will, of course, apply. No pictures will be posted of anyone without their prior consent. So there will probably be no pictures of some people...
