Perhaps I was a tad misleading in what I said. Obviously there is, technically, a difference between processing and preparing for shipment. The point I'm making is that if you were quoted as 1-3 days delivery, as all in this thread were, then all of our phones are going to be going out at roughly the same time. People who are still listed as processing need not worry that their orders are delayed. We can sit here and talk all day about how my order status has changed but yours hasn't, and back and forth and back and forth, but at the end of the day it means nothing in terms of when the phone is actually shipped and delivered to you. There is nothing to be gained or lost here.
EDIT: Also, the fact that your order is "preparing for shipment" indicates nothing in terms of when it'll actually be shipped. We were quoted 1-3 days, meaning that even if its all ready to go, they reserve the right to not send it until Tuesday. So until we get a tracking number and can confirm delivery, it's all rather arbitrary.
For the iPhone 5, it took about 2 days from the time it was shipped until it hit the lower 48 states, then usually 1 day more to actually hit your doorstep. If they phones are coming from China, Wednesday is likely the earliest any of us will see one, regardless of "expedited" vs "standard" -- unless the phones actually do ship from within the US instead of China (as a few rumors have said they might, but it would be unusual).
Personally I realized that. But I just spent 300 bucks on a phone so I want to obsess over it with other people who are getting it in the same time frame so all of our excitement builds up as we see someone's has moved in the process so we want to see when ours does. Just exciting!!

Considering that's 5 days before the earliest I'd love it. I would kind of expect them thursday or friday personally. But I have no experience really.

I suspect this batch will be shipping soon as Apple has charged my card. Hopefully we'll have tracking numbers later today.

I did call earlier to change my delivery address, but the rep assured me my spot in the delivery "line" would remain the same. Anyone think it made a difference? It still says "Available to ship: 1 - 3 business days" and "Delivers: Sep 30 - Oct 2 by Standard Shipping"

In my opinion, I don't think anything would be effected. I changed my shipping address and changed my shipping to expedite and my status changed to prepairing for shipping a few hours ago.
Order mine 1204,I called apple in the morning of 20th to change my credit card. My phone is now Preparing for Shipment. Hope it helps.
