No one claimed they share your fingerprint. They share enough data points between fingerprints that they can unlock your phone. Hate to break it to you, but Touch ID does not look at every swirl and loop and match them like FBI does.
Face ID uses more data points, 30,000 dots I believe was stated. Which means that there still is a chance sufficient number of data points match and would unlock phone. About one in a million.
Obviously not all 30,000 data points need to match, as allowances need to be made for glasses, facial hair, hats, scarfs, etc as was also pointed out.
seems like they could have put the effort into touchID instead of faceID and got better than 1:1,000,000 with fingerprints.
