No one claimed they share your fingerprint. They share enough data points between fingerprints that they can unlock your phone. Hate to break it to you, but Touch ID does not look at every swirl and loop and match them like FBI does.

Face ID uses more data points, 30,000 dots I believe was stated. Which means that there still is a chance sufficient number of data points match and would unlock phone. About one in a million.

Obviously not all 30,000 data points need to match, as allowances need to be made for glasses, facial hair, hats, scarfs, etc as was also pointed out.

seems like they could have put the effort into touchID instead of faceID and got better than 1:1,000,000 with fingerprints.

What part of just having a screen without finger button don't you get. They set a direction to have as close to nothing but screen as possible. Nothing preventing you from inventing a screen that can also read finger prints and cameras that can see through it.
 
So if I'm using CDF* to calibrate my phone, will it work with resting normal face?

What about those with eye lids that don't fully open (like resting stoned face), will it wait for me to pry them open?
