Congratulations!!!

It's been 7.5 months since I quit, and it's amazing how much more energy I have and somewhat paradoxically, how much more relaxed I am.

Don't look back.

It's around 11th and Manhattan Ave. I've never been to the Local Yoke..... I'll have to check it out.

Here's a photo of the outside of the bakery that I posted in the iPhone photo of the day thread:

A very cool vibe there......I love seeing people walking on the sidewalks carrying surfboards and kayaks.

oooh yup I've never passed by Beckers, I thought I did. there's also a sandwhich shop across the Local Yoke, yelp has some good reviews. And then there's always wahoos haha

Good for you man. I'm kinda in the same boat. I have been smoking for the past 4 years, give or take, up until a month ago I was on a pack/pack and a half a day. Something in my mind just switched and I have been smoking less and less since then. I actually set a quit date of tomorrow. As I type I have one cigarette left in a pack (that has lasted 4 days). I'm trying to decide when the best time for me to smoke my last cigarette would be. Enough about me, congratulations on your success.

Good for you. Keep going. I smoked for 35 years before I quit. I'll be 5 yrs. smoke free in April.

I don't think about it anymore. In fact, I just voted at the polls Tuesday to ban smoking in bars/restaurants my county. It passed.

quitters...just kidding..never understood with smoking cigarettes..i don't mind a cigar every once in a while

thank you for all the support everyone, I appreciate it!!

Congratulations. I will take this opportunity to confess that I made it 4 months without a cigarette...

...and then I caved. I smoke MUCH less now than before, but I'm still smoking again. :(

To the OP - Don't let up. It can sneak up on you when you least expect it!

hey 4 months is sitll a long time, at least you know that you CAN quit and since you are smoking less now, thats better than the old habbitS!

Did you have dreams about smoking? Almost hallucinate during the day? Was it ever like "hearing voices", thoughts that, "one pack of ultra-lites would be OK" or "if you borrow just one Doral, it'll be OK"... ?

No, me neither. Just checking.:p

Smoking less = zero success. Smoking is smoking. It's like being pregnant: you are or you aren't, there's no in-between. But if you quit for 4 months you could have done it forever. Now you're back where you started. Just do it. :)

I quit for 3 years, didn't even have one cigarette in 3 years, but I went back. I don't know how I did it. Now, I have 3-4 cigarettes a day. I smoke half a cigarette to get the nicotine craving and throw out the rest.

I'm going to keep on trying. :)

Do or do not. There is no try.

Couldn't resist. ;)

Keep going!

It's the landmarks that keep you quit. Next one is the 3 month one, 6 months, 1 year, 5 years... It keeps you focussed on staying quit just thinking about it.

Congrats dude! I keep telling myself this is my final pack but I always stumble and give in. Gotta try more I s'ppose.

congrates all in this thread who've stopped
its been 7 months for me from a 12yr+ habit but no massive signs of improved health as i ate more to replace smokes, i put on 10kgs :(
