I can respond to text messages without taking out my 6 Plus. It's a big phone. Perfect for watching videos, surfing web, etc. but not for replying to texts. Watch fills that gap.

My favourite thing about the watch is that, oddly, it's just a really nice watch. If any other company had brought out a regular watch as nicely made as the Apple Watch which connects to the internet to set the time and has easily interchangeable straps, that in itself would've been reason enough for me to get one! All the other features are just a nice bonus really.

Great topic. I bought the watch for the info at a glance. Just to be able to seen meetings weather time etc at a glance. Chicago weather is pretty crazy so not having to dig out the phone unlock it open the weather app to see if I should bring my jacket is a real convenience. Stand ring for working from home. Home automation like hue and harmony.

Why I love the watch the fitness aspect is a real game changer for me personally. I work from home a fair amount and have a desk job when I go to work so the stand reminders are really helpful and the excercise and move rings have really pushed me to be more active and excercise every day. Still early I guess but it's really remarkable how motivating they have been. Silencing your phone completely and getting notifications silently and how easy it is to flick your wrists and monitor notifications. Hey Siri set a timer for ... Hey Siri get directions to ... Hey Siri message so and so with ... She isn't perfect but it is pretty damn convenient. Can't wait for hey Siri pop the trunk, hey Siri unlock the door for groceries or hey Siri watch tv hey Siri turn off the lights. Phone calls on the watch are pretty awesome too. I usually charge my phone when I get home so it's nice to just take calls on it or if my hands are full but I can otherwise talk. Great when you realize you don't really need to hold your arm up. I'm really enjoying it, yeah it isn't something you need but it is convenient and I would really miss it.

It was like the perfect storm for me. I'm obsessed with watches, I've been wanting to get an activity tracker for a while but hadn't found one that was good enough to take my wrist real estate away from my watches. I'm deep in the Apple ecosystem and I love gadgets. I wanted a watch with a sapphire display and had been looking at Milanese type bands for a long time as well. Time that's even more accurate than my iPhone and live weather on my wrist? It was just too perfect. Anything more is just icing on the cake.

A tie between notifications and fitness tracking. A device that does both and which ties into the Apple ecosystem pretty flawlessly has made a greater impact on my life than I ever expected it would.

I thought I would merely "enjoy" my Watch, but to be honest, it's made a huge difference to my levels of stress (reduced) and activity (increased). Less stress because I don't feel compelled to keep checking my phone to make sure I haven't missed something important, and increased activity because I'm obsessed with closing those damn circles. I've also found that it's more accurate than calorie burning info from treadmills and exercise bikes, and I was not burning nearly as many calories on those as the machines were reporting, so while that was bad news, it was good news to know!

It is far from a perfect device, but it just does so much for me that I never had before. I'd hate to be without it now I've had one.

The number 1 reason why I bought & love my apple watch is the MANY reasons why I bought & love it :)

I wouldn't say I love my watch but I do enjoy using it. Main reason is because I do find myself having to use my 6 plus phone less because I can now see my text messages by just looking at my watch. I can easily reply to them without touching my phone. That's a plus for me.

I've been so attached to my phone recently and this has changed everything. I used to bring my phone into the bathroom to make sure I didn't miss anything, but I had to turn do not disturb on during the day when I was at school because the vibrate and tones are just too obnoxious. When I had to turn that on I always forgot to turn it off at the end of the day and I would miss important texts and calls...now none of this is an issue. I've learned to manage the information that is sent to me and how to stop bringing my phone everywhere I go. I never miss an important notification and I've hardly gotten any pointless notifications.

Besides that I love all things Apple :)

For me, having moved over from a Fitbit Charge HR, it was the fact that I've found the HR monitor in the gym much more accurate.

I appreciate others' mileage may vary, but I've personally found it much better - not perfect! - just better than my old device!

I have been wanting a smart watch for a long time but they were all too ugly for me to actually want to wear one. Enter the Watch and I love it. It's a beautiful piece of technology.

I don't have it either ( probably next week) but I'm used to wear a watch so that's the main reason. But I can reduce it to 1) Time 2) Glances (weather, public transport info) 3) Sport activity ( health management )

It brings me joy when I use it, even to just look at the time. I lift my wrist to see it and PRESTO, I can magically tell what time it is from any one of many beautifully designed watch faces.

It also pleases me greatly when it taps my wrist lightly to remind me to stand or move...and when someone's just messaged me. :) It's kind of like the assistant Siri could be if she could tap your wrist and remind you of things you wanted to be reminded of.

Where I work we are not supposed to have our phones out on the shop floor. This way I can see my notifications easily without violating that requirement. And I don't need to seriptisiously slip my phone out just to check the time.

Why I bought the watch: I love Apple. I love gadgets. New Apple gadget? Take my money. I will admit after 2 weeks the shine had worn off and I was considering returning it.

Why I'm keeping it even though it can't be denied there are bugs to be worked out: April 1st I had heart surgery to remove a left atrial myxoma. My recovery was going great, I had had no complications. Last week I walked into the garage and I passed out. I used my watch to call 911 because I had left my phone in the bedroom (at the advice of a nurse I had already added 911 to my favorites list before I left the hospital). Using the Health app I was able to give emergency personal a list of my meds, doctors, allergies and emergency contact. Once at the hospital my doctors looked at my activity, heart rate and I was keeping track of my blood pressure and putting it the health app, they figured out a small change in my blood pressure meds was most likely the cause for passing out. All along the way the doctors were impressed and grateful to get the information from the watch and Health app. IMO, the watch has paid for itself and I'll be keeping it.

I love not having to take my phone out of my pocket at work to get messages, e mails, and score updates throughout the day.

Also a great thing to leave my phone in my pocket when checking the time of day seeing as I never really wore a watch consistently before Apple watch.

I wanted to track my workouts and take it with me when I'm traveling/walking through shadier places.

I agree on the best looking part. The only other decent looking watch IMO is the ZenWatch. I look at Apple Watch next to my kickstarter edition Pebble and the Pebble looks, feels, and acts like a toy. I do wish Apple could think of a way to have the screen always on while not killing the battery quickly. That's one thing the Pebble has going for it.

Pebble kickstarter here too that got dumped for the Apple Watch, which kills the Pebble dead IMO.

Being able to quickly triage the deluge of emails, texts, and other notifications is the most important thing for me.

Very nice story. Shows how useful the watch is. Isn't the Health app on the phone though?
