I said I was keeping an eye on it. According to @GGJstudios & Apple leaving it plugged in doesn't hurt it at all.
According to any knowledge about chemicals and batteries, a battery should work to be kept healthy. Keeping it topped all the time isn't a good habit.

57 cycles (just over 1 cycle per week) is plenty of use to keep a battery healthy.

With daily use of my rMB, I've only been getting 3 hours. That is just email and Internet browsing.

There are many factors that impact your battery life. See the BATTERY LIFE FROM A CHARGE section of the following link for details, including tips on how to maximize your battery life.
The link below should answer most, if not all, of your battery/charging questions. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you take the time to read it.

I've already read your post and had already made most of the adjustments. Saying that there are many factors is true, but not using flash 40-50% brightness just browsing the internet and using email should not get me 3 hours. It should get me 9+ according to apple.

I'm expecting to get at least of 6 hours of video while on a plane.

Yeah... you should be doing better than that. Try using it for a while then look in Activity Monitor under the Energy tab and sort by Average Energy Impact and that should show you what app is chewing up your battery.

98.8% (5234 mAh) 17 Cycles, over four months of use. From the chart below the data is clear, batteries wear and are a consumable item. Some need to stop worrying about issues that don't exist, if your MacBook has an issue with the battery it will be obvious early into the Notebooks life and Apple will replace it under warranty in short enjoy and use your Mac as intended.
