My local Apple Store didn’t have the SS Gold 40mm with Milanese, but they did have it with stone band. So I cancelled my order, scheduled that for pickup, and placed an order for the gold Milanese loop. I’ll have my new Apple Watch in an hour instead of waiting on my 12-19 estimate.

I cancelled my Apple order when I received delivery notification from Best Buy on Friday. Pretty sad that a Best Buy order placed at 8am on the 14th was able to beat out the one I placed with Apple eleven minutes after they became available. If you've read any of the Best Buy preorder thread you'll know what I mean.
The 44 SS silver seem to be the models not shipping. This seems to be the case for the 2-9 delivery thread as well.
Me either, and because Nike is working on their app and makes last testing betas before they're gonna releasing the new app update with the day the Nike+ watch lunch
It is sad, but I can also see why. EBay is loaded up with people selling. My guess is there are people ordering like crazy right when the pre-sales go live to try and get right away. They go for the higher sale items if they want to sell for $200-$400 profit. Or, people like us buy to be first.
Then, resellers get a supply.
There are also people who put in an order and then see a slight delay and start putting in orders with resellers and cancel one or the other.
Seems like SS Black and Silver are the tough ones to get.

My order of a 40mm SS with Sport Band and a 44mm SBSS with Sport Band had an email order complete time of 12:45A PT (45 minutes late, I overslept) and a delivery date of Oct 5-12. Neither shows any sign of movement and is still in "Order in Process" with a note on the website that this order may experience delays in shipping. Really, really hoping it beats Oct 5 even by a day as I'll be leaving on vacation on the 5th. Every day I am in town between now and then I'm also checking the local Apple Stores but right now they have zero stock of any SS models in any color.

I must be lucky. Ordered mine 8am CST on 9/14 and got mine today. Original delivery date was 10/12-10/19.

They are shipping the aluminums in many cases from the Oct 5-12 timeframe, its the stainless models that aren't moving.
My 40mm silver SS is now preparing for shipment. My credit card was charged 2 hours ago.
