I hope the new "Pros" have USB-C instead of Lightning. I can live with their other iOS shortcomings. My 12 year-old daughter would love one coupled with a (perhaps new and improved) Pencil as a birthday present in July.

She lives to draw and has mastered several mediums, including Wacoms. This is one of the last frontiers; a Surface Studio is also on the list.

Ah, if only Apple would release something like the Surface Studio...

No more ipads for me. What I need is a replacent for my 2009 mini. my 2007 iMac and my 2012 macbook air. All Apple has for sale for these is very old tech at very high prices.

Apple has left their long term customers.

In good conscience I can no longer recommend Apple products to others.

I keep hoping that this year (like pretty much every year before) is a "Back to the Mac" year where they put out something truly delightful.

But given last September's CRUSHING MBP disappointment, I'm spring-cleaning my 3 2011-2012's for yet another year (or two) in service.

Thankfully, Sierra now runs like a champ on those (after the last update and a clean install).

But I agree, price vs performance is just not there anymore. If you have the money to blow, though...

Yes we do. Around 2-3 mm and very light weight (without compromising battery).

No, we really don't. The iPad is thin enough. Give me more battery life. If the iPad is to replace the laptop, battery life needs to improve as performance continues to rise.

The iPad won't replace the laptop. You need the keyboard if your are going to write large pieces of text and a vertical screen that you don't need to hold in your hand all the time.

The iPad can however replace magazines and newspaper, but it needs to be thinner, lighter and perhaps larger

But yet that's what we'll see from Apple.

I know they'll have other features and enhancements but they'll definitely be promoting how thin the new iPad is

Actually the rumor on the 10.5" model is that is will get thicker (to the levels of the 1st gen iPad Air) in order to accommodate a larger battery (since the size of this model is the same as the 9.7" it needs more battery for the larger display).

If Apple refreshes the iPad mini I can see them pushing that slimmer though.

I'll take slimmer on the pro 12.9. I feel like it is just a bit too heavy.

The iPad Air 2 and iPad Pro 9.7 are near perfect balance for me. I don't feel the same need to make that lighter.

The iPad has already replaced the laptop for some people.

Apple needs to decide what they're going to do with the iPad.
