not too sure...i just had the worst crash ever...all i did was to 'quick look' a video file in full screen..(i guess time machine was running in the background)..and lo...the system hung..on restart..i actually got a colored, striped screen and I thought that my 8600 had failed on me:eek:

on restarting it once more..the system appears to be normal....but there is ample 'beachballing' still...

I would rather run Safari than Firefox. Since version 3.0 it has become too bloated and too far removed from the original concept of a lightweight browser.

right on the money there...though I still have Firefox on my machine cause some websites do not render themselves properly on safari

All is well here

I only ever had 2 expose issue, one wasn't discussed often, the other was known. The known issue was fixed and the other still hasn't happened yet since the update. So I presently only have one issue with how a FAT 32 drive is written to, but don't know if that is a SL issue. Quite literally no other problems to report, just like most of the OSes since Jaguar.

I've had a couple of Kernel Panics on the CD Mac Mini and problems with Safari across my Macs (it really doesn't like uploading attachments in Google Mail, now) so I'm going to say no, 10.6.2 is not perfect.

That said, I'm sure that by the time we get to .5 or .6 we'll have the most polished Apple operating system to date. Snow Leopard is very accomplished and, generally speaking, I've found performance to be very good on my clutch of Macs.

I ordered the Snow Leopard upgrades for the office last week. 10.6.2 is, I think, good enough to roll out at work now.

It's not perfect...yet.

Spaces still has this bug...when you switch to another space, sometimes ALL your windows appear magically together in that space, and disappear once you switch Spaces again. Really irritating, doesn't happen often.

Other than that, Apple's done a fine job! :D :apple:

Didn't really have much issue with 10.6.1 but I can definitely tell the difference in overall performance with 10.6.2. Overall, I'm very happy and since there's no such thing as "Perfect", it's pretty close. :)

No earlier than January '10. Probably some time in February though.

Maybe even later like March. There has not been any talk yet about 10.6.3 what fixes there needs to be still looked at. As in for 10.6.2 It fixed the issue with playing a multiplayer game where the Graphics card crashed or froze and it also fixed the issue when you click the eject button for CD through iTunes it would take a while and give me a spinning circle, which I am happy about that. But for some reason once I upgraded to 10.6.2 I have Airport issues which I thought that was fixed in 10.6.2 which oddly I had no problem during 10.6.1. To also remind people I have Snow Leopard installled on a Late September 2006 iMac. Another thing I noticed as much as they fixed the CPU issue with Safari it still sometimes goes crazy and the Flash issue YUCK! I wish Adobe could do something for Mac or Apple could fix the issue with flash can not stand it. My other favorite problem I noticed is since 10.6 -10.6.2 the printer driver shows up incorrectly (I have Canon MP500) even after upgrading the driver through Apple auto update and when you go to cannon website it says its 10.20 not 10.19 plus there is a scanner driver update to which Apple website still says there isnt.

So for me 10.6.2 fixed most issues but there is sill a lot fixing to do. For people who are wondering if they should upgrade to Snow Leopard when 10.6.3 ior when 10.6.4 are out I would wait and read the forums what people say for the update before doing it. Do I regret updating it? Not really since I was on 10.4.11 Tiger wich was solid with no problems but I knew there was going to be no more updates for Tiger and plus by next year when 10.7 is out I wont be able to upgrade my OS on my iMac anymore.

10.6.2 is working fine for me, except for a few issues:

1. My HP Ink widget doesn't work yet.

2. I can't copy anything to TextEdit and save it; TextEdit always crashes which brings down the rest of the system.

3. Finder stops responding periodically. I force quit it, then it won't relaunch because of some error.

4. Flash videos seem to load slower than 10.5.

As far as I can tell, 10.6.1 was perfect. I didn't seem to be affected by any of the bugs in 10.6.1, so 10.6.2 is even better I guess.

10.6 in general is the OS I've always wanted. I loved Leopard and Snow Leopard goes above and beyond and it keeps me happy.

I cannot reproduce a single issue on this page either. Can anyone mention a problem that I might be able to reproduce?

Not perfect, but I've been pleased with SL since day one. However, moving from on "Space" to another using the cursor has become increasingly choppy with each update. In 10.6.2, it almost has reach the point of being annoying.

Initially had problems with Airport...turned out it was the router's fault. Decided to reset it, never had a problem ever since.

Really?

I know there are a lot of nuts high on RDF in MR, but this has got to be a troll.

And just how is he being a troll? The thread title asks if anyone has a perfect 10.6.2 install and The Spaz says he does, in fact he goes on saying that his 10.6.1 install was fine too. Being OT telling the forum you have good experiences with SL is now the definition of a troll?

I don't like it

It made my Mac suck, I can't use right click and I can't drag and drop! How do I fix this?

I can't make this happen. Are there any special steps?

not really. Just make there there is already an app inside a space. and open spaces. move it over to another space where there is an app.. and it glitches a bit.

the same happens on my buddys macbook pro as well, with snow leopard. Diff apps, not just Things, or safari ect.

not sure if its 10.6.2 specifically, but quite a few times now i've had my trackpad stop responding to clicks/taps. the cursor is still responsive, and scrolling/swiping still work, which makes me doubt that its a hardware issue.

another issue is that after effects seems to go ram crazy. no matter how little ram i devote to the program in after effects preferences, when i start a render, it immediately eats up the full 4gb and starts creating massive amounts of pageouts, which never happened previously. this makes even simple renders take way longer than they should. being third party software i realize its not just an apple issue, but it still is a frustration.

on the up side, wifi dropouts and the wacky expose behaviour seem to have stopped. of course, there are some people on this forum who seem to think any problems with snow leopard can only be the users fault, so in that case, i guess i'll just take credit for fixing these self-inflicted problems myself. now if you'll excuse me i gotta go install a bunch more haxies and migrate a bunch of old user accounts, since you know, thats what i do.

At this point... Leopard > Snow Leopard.

Snow Leopard has made things not work that used to work before. My spotlight is all F'd up and so is my iTunes. With Windows 7 being out now I think I'm definately going PC again for my next system.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but a lot of people are happy with Snow Leopard (including me). I have no issues with Spotlight whatsoever and I use it all the time. I actually like Snow Leopard's Spotlight better than Leopard's.
