The leaked build is 10A380, which is the build given out at WWDC. The X3100 drivers show a last modified date (I assume compile date) of 29th May 2009, so they're fairly up-to-date. Because they're not 64-bit capable, OSX effectively needs to load a 32-bit kernel in parallel (see the IOKit/BSDKernel/Mach...etc 6.0 extensions).
I meant that the build given out at WWDC is clearly not the same build Apple demonstrated at WWDC, as that one had the new Expose features, among some other things.

Also, there's a minor UI tweak to the slider controls.

Kinda bummed about the wwdc build not having the dock expose, thats one of the main reasons I just installed it.

I've been using the WWDV Developer Preview (Build 10A380) for two days now as my main OS. It's been extremely stable thus far. With that said, make sure you do make a backup of everything if you do decide to run Snow Leopard. Apps in Snow Leopard launch faster than they do in Leopard and everything does feel snappier.

There were a few problems I ran into however.
-iStat Menubar does not work. The Dashboard widget still works, but the menubar utility does not. I have contacted the maker of iStat, and they are going to release a Snow Leopard compatible version in a few weeks.
-Quicktime X has no Preferences menu. This isn't a big deal though. VLC still works for most of the movies I have to play.
-Vuze does not work with Snow Leopard. I have been using uTorrent for Mac until a Snow Leopard compatible version of Vuze is released.
-My MacBook Pro had to be shut down via the holding the power button once. The only time was right after installing Snow Leopard. It has shut down fine ever since.
-SoundSource menu bar item does not work. I'm certain that all these menu bar apps will work once they have been updated for Snow Leopard. I'm using the default volume control now.

Other than that, it's a really sweet update to Leopard and I can't wait until the official release comes out in September.

Here's a picture of my desktop. It doesn't show much, but I think the new Quicktime X icon is worth taking a look at. It's cool. :p

All you have to do is burn the image to a DL DVD.. or you can put it on your external hard drive or a partition in your main hard drive and install from there. It doesn't wipe data. Just a painless upgrade. It took about a half hour for me running it off my iPod.

Edit: Sims 3 is hanging at random points under Snow Leopard. The only way to fix that is to hold the power button. :-/
is there a way u can upload this wallpaper somewhere or send it to me? thanx

if i install the seeded WWDC dev build, when the retail version comes out will i be able to do a normal upgrade? or will i have to start from scratch?

Is there any benchmarks or general comments on performance of Snow Leopard over Leopard? I'm anxious to hear if there's been any changes (performance) with the removal of legacy PPC code.

Very interesting thread.

Vuze works fine on mine.

Have anyone had problems with Transmission?

Transmission looks to not update with the trackers.

At launch it work, but on the second [first is at launch, and maybe even the first does not work] the tracker does not update at all and I can't connect with peers, unless these I connected when I was ok.

uTorrent beta seems ok.

You might be able to do an archive and install.

erased W7, backed up on to that drive, reformatted my boot drive, installed 10.6, migrated my **** back in, it looks IDENTICAL, no changes at face value in my 5mins of use, but it runs BEAUTIFULLY so far!(the reformat from a hacked up migrated 3times build prob didnt help it before) Most apps are 64bit now, Safari is and is nice and quick, firefox isnt but it is being updated as i type this... uTorrent works, Vuze won't. Will update Vuze and report back.
Updated Vuze, it now works. Updated Firefox, it is still 32bit(edit, now going to firefox 3.5 beta to see how it goes)...

Couple of things I'm enjoying so far:

- Quick Look inside any finder window.

- In 'Screen Sharing', Apple/Cmd+TAB now passes to the connected computer rather than switch apps locally.

upgrading to this is one of my main projects for today. As for all the people who are like why do you not just wait for the retail copy to come out, I say if i am willing to take the risk why not. This unlike the iphone side of things does not carry any real negatives of lasting effects. I hate it i flip back to 10.5 fresh copy and i bring my back up stuff back. Unlike windows i do not have to spend hours and hours fixing up drivers even when i have them...
I see this as an opportunity to explore the new stuff before any one else and when it comes out i am already up to speed, kinda like windows 7 and windows longhorn before that (xp)
So i am excited i do not expect quicktime X to be done as there are many many months between now and September launch. I would imagine they have the core OS done now, they are now working on tweaks to the newly 64 bit apps like quick time X.

How do I sign up to get these seeds? Obviously I won't get it for this particular OS, but how do I become a tester for future products?

I have installed the SL and i think it is stable enough for daily use so far. I can say not alot on the first glace has changed. But it just seem that little bit faster .

Sending Mail

Hey guys just wondering if anyone else is having problems sending mail (from Mail) in SL?
I get Cannot send message using this server (my ISP smtp server)
asking me to verify that I have it correct.

Its the same one I used before I upgraded to SL
and the server works fine under 10.4 on another machine on my network

After updating to Snow Leopard, I had to install three updates. They were only the Airport Utility update and the iTunes update..

Has anyone had any issues with connecting to an Airport base station with this update (Im using an express) I can connect to the internet fine but cannot run Airport util, and my printer is not seen on the network.
