They should be adjustable like they are in the dock, my eyes aren't cool with reading small text then the bigger icons and back and forth.

I don't use Launchpad heavily, but the larger icons are more practical. When you group programs together, you see the first nine within the group. Previously, the sizes of the icons were too small to be able to easily identify what the programs were (unless you were extremely familiar with the program icon, perhaps). With that size, it would have been better if they allowed you to use a folder icon, instead of trying to represent the programs that were grouped together. With these larger icons, I find it much easier to pick out what programs are within the group.

For what it's worth, I'm in a 15" Macbook Pro. Maybe the problem of seeing programs within a group didn't exist on systems with larger screens.

Same issue here. Very ugly, and looks slapped together. Is this what happens w/o Steve? Neatness disappears? Also in addition to my log in screen, there is a guess one... Can't turn it off in System Preferences... It reboots the Mac into that Safari only mode. How do I get ride of that other user account.

not a problem here. did u try removing the icon, and putting the app folder back in the dock?

I'm realizing this might be because I recently changed my preferences in Finder to not hide extensions. I changed that option back, but the apps in the Application folder in the Dock are still showing the .app extension. Maybe a reboot is in order.

In other news, Launchpad is now showing icons it shouldn't: such as ".Skype_Upgrade" and "Uninstall Teamviewer." Is there a way to remove icons from the Launchpad?

That's a good point.

For what it's worth, my initial reaction was exactly the same as the OP's but I've already grown accustomed to the new look.

I feel like i have lost half of my screen resolution, that was one of the reasons i bought a mac in the first place.(this is my first mac) launchpad still looks ugly when hooked up to my 20" monitor.

This is unlike Apple, hope they don't do this on iOS ;)

I second you on the resolution... I'm working off of my 120" 1080p projector...

thanx for that; i actually sat still for the whole thing (LOL).
may try it later (as i HATE the giant icons).

perhaps apple could let us resize the FOLDERS in launchpad separately from the APPS (i mean, i assume that's the point; larger folders so u can see what is in them).

but the apps look pretty sad...

EDIT:following your steps now. sure someone will make a freeware app or script to do this later.
great idea! (& thanx for testing it out first)

I like it. The icons are big enough, but don't make the screen look crowded. Aesthetically, I also like how you can see more detail in the icon artwork, but that's just me. I wonder what it would look like if they increased the icon size on an iPad....
