Which rMBP do you have?

Had the base 2.4ghz 15". Couldn't scroll most social media sites without lag and Mission Control chugged. Hoping the 60 fps claim is true. Think I'll need a comp before they are refreshed.

I'm running base Retina on Mavericks - see signature for specs.

Mission control lag still here but it is DP1.. I would expect this to be gone in DP2 when they likely include iBooks and have it match the one we saw at the keynote more closely.

Scrolling in safari is immensely better. 50+ FPS on TheVerge - the site that use to lag like an absolute cow. But unfortunately Chrome isn't yet benefiting from these improvements.

Battery life is a lot worse but again this is attributed to being pre-beta

I think I will just use my Mac and see how what it does and how it behaves.. perhaps you do some research first and you will find out that it is actually called IGP.

This is a sole software/driver issue.

If you really have a retina macbook pro with dedicated GC, try to disable the HD4000 and see if there is still lag. You will see a bit difference, and if you put MAVERICKS you will see always above 40 fps. So please don't argue if you dont have retina or you dont know how to customize to see where the lag issue come from. Integrated graphic card is a little bit slow to render the retina but also the OS, so AGAIN i say for all of you that with the new HD4600 or HD5000+Mavericks we will have over 40 to 60 fps all the time

its true that the lag of the GUI on the rmbp is a bit ****. For example, if I have 4 safari windows open and i activate mission control, i will get 2fps. And that does piss me off specially when I see my brothers 2008 MacBook perform much much smoother than my gorgeous retina display MacBook Pro.

However I have noticed that if i set my screen res to 1440x900 (best for retina, which unfortunately is too low for me), the GUI is nearly perfect, with barely any lag present.

Maybe thats something you should check as well?

On another note i have been playing around with 10.9 on the rmbp. and it is a lot smoother. and battery is much better as well. my laptop wakes up from sleep in no time (before i finish opening the screen!) and also did see some speed improvements overall. very excited about 10.9!

around september I'm guessing.

I just installed the second preview of 10.9, and I have to say, its becoming very smooth. the scrolling is just great! Finally! really a joy now.

My rmbp seems also to be snappier. As I said before waking from sleep is blazing fast. I wish they had fixed the slow shutdown times tho...

Funny thing about mission control lag, I can't emulate it using any other programme but safari (including google chrome and firefox). I can have 10 pages open for each app, and all will launch mission control without lag except safari. Is anyone else noticing this problem?

Thanks

Note that I was using the integrated graphics card at all times.

DP 2 is running more buttery for me too without a doubt, i had 15 instances of the verge and boingboing going on safari with very very little mission control ui lag compared to a fair bit with DP1, also have noticed that screen sharing is considerably better when the shared screen is running video. my mac mini runs a plex client and occasionally I have to screen share into, and that was just awful mouse lag with plex open on ML (lag would go away when plex was minimized) but that is just fine in DP2 with the rMBP.

Uhm, I have a 2008 late alubook with a normal HDD and it wakes up almost instantly?

Yeah my rMBP is instant. Never knew there was lag, still can't find it or see it. My brains frame rate must be just slow all the time.
