I am probably the only person super excited to see what Apple's first modem in a device looks like performance wise.

I love the arrogance of this filler article’s headline, as if MR knows better that a darn huge corporation. Yes, Apple _could_ have held an event for these things but it would’ve had a resourcing cost and may have backfired if underwhelming. I mean, some whiny online asshats would’ve been bound to parroted the same tired phrases about this being Apple’s definition of innovation in 2025. Do you really expect Apple to do something bigger for its first major event of the year? This ain’t that, but I reckon you well and truly know that yet had to get one more bit of crap on the internet today.

I wonder if they'll release an Apple Vision (a non 'pro' version). Or do you not see them doing that until the AVP 2 comes out?

It’s too early to rev the iPad air without revving the pro too.

I think the possibilities are:
- 1 updated product
- 1 new product and a bunch of updates
- 1 new chip and a bunch of updates (m4 ultra?)

Since most people think we’re due for a bunch of updates, I think we’ll get a new chip or product. I also think there will be more later in the spring, since there is typically a dead period between wwdc and the OS releases.

No.

iPhone is Apple's priority, and it would be something "embarrassing" if Apple couldn't meet launch demand every September.

But the rest of Apple's products, while very popular, don't see the same demand and thus can often wait.
10 months?! And it’s the ipad they gave priority. Apple often blamed intel for their unpredictable update patterns, now it seems they just don’t care.

Apples M1 processors from 2020 are still fast enough for the average consumer.

It’s always nice to have a faster device, but the fact is that processors are now so fast for most people that if they didn’t know any better you could pass off a 2020 Mac to a consumer as todays greatest and not doubt it.

Only the most resource hungry applications and special features like certain AI tasks benefit from the latest processors.
The models still on M2 are precisely those marketed towards the pro market, the ones you would buy to run the most demanding apps, the mac studio and the mac pro.

Don’t get me wrong, apple silicon is WONDERFUL, but feels just wrong that M4 has been around since first quarter of 2024 yet apple intentionally keeps their not-so-top of the line models on M2, which is more than two years old at this point. Wouldn’t 3D rendering benefit from the ray tracing capabilities introduced with the M3, for instance?

Press releases don’t get a teaser.
Agree.

This has to be an initial preview of the rumored “Apple Command Center”.

As Apple Intelligence needs time, and WWDC and iPhones 2025 are many months away, Apple needs some hype now to kick off the new year.

This has to be (mainly) about this new product. And then they’ll throw in a new iPhone SE 4th Gen. and iPad 11th Gen. (low-end) as press releases.

Yep. Processor’s good, it’s just that memory is the key thing that we constantly need more over time. They have been and will continue to be stingy with RAM because it is the thing that will make people run out of.

I’m holding out for a new MBA but at this point I’d rather just wait a few more months for an M5 version instead!

Boring list.

I'm all in on a new Magic Keyboard design. The current one for the iPad Pro 11" absolutely SUCKS. Unfortunately, it seems this one will only be for the Air?

tv should be factored in to these predictions, unless there's a specific reason it can't be coming now (which would be odd, given the duration since the last version).

It does often seem to be the case that specific products are just ignored by the rumouring, for unspecified reasons.
Is the Apple TV really something we need updating every year / two years?

Only Apple can generate this much hype around a 60Hz $500 phone.
Do you think that's because we're starved of something exciting from Apple? Or because it's a phone that's a size and price point a lot of people prefer? I feel like the hype says more about what Apple fail to do regularly than how good they are all the time.

Probably, all the interesting new products we hear of are (home hub / new HomePods etc) probably 2 years out which makes you wonder what Apple have been doing.. Vision Pro that’s what. Which in itself was a massive product launch however because it’s so expensive and inaccessible, we often forget about it.

How about a new (updated) compact wireless USB-C keyboard and USB-C trackpad?

On a quest to get rid of all Apple Lightning-stuff still in my life. ;D

That is a lot of products. It's unlikely we will get all of them at the same time (and we haven't).
