A5 processors are gone for those reasons more than any other. The fact that things are "still sold" means absolutely nothing.

I understand now. Thanks! I definitely understand that Apple will soon be able to sell devices that cannot run the latest operating system.

Why else do you think the iPhone continues to sell well? People HAVE to buy a new one after 2-3 years.

I see. Thanks so much for your insight! After realizing this, I was seemingly forced to shell out dough for a new iPhone. Oh well. At least I was finally able to throw away my iPhone 5. What a relief to get rid of that worthless piece of garbage.

Personally, I'm considering purchasing an iPhone 6 since it would be nice to have access to all of my music. I unfortunately lost my IPT about 3 months ago and haven't been able to find it. I was hoping for a new IPT this year but it appears as if it ain't going to happen. I like the new size of the iPhone and I'm comfortable using it as my go to device (i.e.: music, apps, etc...) in lieu of my current Android phone.

There is a chance that a new one could come out at WWDC or in September but who knows.

I appreciate that you were sarcastic here, but there is some truth to it. As soon as they started their trend of selling a non-current model alongside a current model, the longevity of the product purchased went downhill, making it a poor buy. I know you know this and we both know that there are several examples of this throughout the history of iOS.
