I really doubt I would experience any improvements if I updated from my current iOS 17 or even 18 that has already been a mess

This is a nice little touch as it's slightly annoying when it closes and you're not finished checking notifications. Even better would be a user defined time option for it to fall asleep but I'll take this.

It would be such a good move for Apple to focus on performance/bugs & Siri for the next full year. Sooooo many bugs.

If they were smart they would focus the new on-board Siri on helping ferret out those bugs.

This. I hope someone puts in some time to do a comparison. These all sound great, but if it is still a net regression from 18, that’s not any good.

I have a feeling that if you take an iPhone 16 on the latest version of 18, the release version of 27 will perform similarly to 18...

Maybe then the next step will be for 28 to look more or less like 18.

Much needed. I can’t tell you how sloppy my iPhone has been over the last 4 months. Apps load so slow. UI glitches. Absolutely pathetic feels like I’m using a blackberry bold

This is the way it should be -- make things fast on the baseline models and then the latest/fastest models will feel even faster. Having to buy the latest phones (Macs, etc) just to get back to what we had years ago is an insult.

Developers of websites and similar need to do the same thing. I mean I am happy for you that your boss got you an MacBook Pro M5 Max but if that's the only place you tested your code it's probably not going to run well elsewhere. If someone needs the equivalent of a supercomputer to view a site that basically reproduces a BBS, I think you have more work to do.

I have noticed things notably quicker on the public beta. You know what isn't faster? Siri. Don't get me wrong, I've used New Siri for 2 things and those 2 things were pretty magical. But the Old Siri stuff? "Hey Siri, turn on the window light" (Glowing orb sits there for 2 minutes, reminding me of how much better looking the old rainbow border was) "Hey Siri, send my wife a text message telling her I'll..." "Do you want me to send it?" "I wasn't done. Send my wife a text message and say I'm going to be late." "Did you mean... I'm going to be late? I'm going to be eight? I'm going to be fate?" "LATE!" "Did you mean... late? Weight? Mate?" "THE FIRST ONE!" "Ok, message to Anna... I'm going to be late. Do you want me to send it?"

They need to have a different wake word for non-Ai stuff. "Hey old Siri, set a timer"

First. Apps loading faster is like what Windows did. Instantly booting, but when logging in you could not interact with the UI cause it was postloading stuff. They did the same trick here.

Second. We don't need better Airdrop. We need Airdrop that works before it got nerfed and now doesn't work properly for yearrrrrrrrsssssss...

I’ve noticed faster file transfers through Airdrop and the Files app compared to iOS 26.6, but that’s it.
There’s a glitch in CarPlay where widgets still display even after I disabled them that’s driving me nuts currently. When I hit the home button it goes to widgets instead of my apps, so I have to swipe left to switch apps now. Any additional distractions while driving is a huge no no, so hoping this is fixed by Beta 5.

I know artists release many different versions of songs but would be nice if AI could remember/learn what you've been selecting in the past.

I’m willing to believe that some people would find that useful. But probably the most frequent use of search in Mail for me is figuring out when I watch some piece of Apple hardware. Listing results by date is exactly what I want, so I hope this new “feature” will be optional.
