MacOS used to be an amazing, but now it looks like a 3 year old designed this horrific UI!
its quite funny that windows 11 actually looks quite decent compared to macos 26After updating one of my iPhones to iOS 26, and reading the above, I can confidently say I'm skipping MacOS 26 until I'm confident all this liquid glass UI "enhancements" can be completely disabled.
This has been one of the worst aesthetic design choices I've seen Apple make. It reminds me of when Microsoft rolled out Windows Vista.
People complain that Apple isn't innovating and things are stale. Then Apple innovates and people want to go back to the old way and what they are accustomed to.
Although strictly speaking, innovation doesn't have to be anything other than just "new" to qualify, we generally expect it to also be "useful" or an "improvement". Liquid Glass is neither.Yeah... pretty funny, isn't it? A forum tradition going waaay back on just about everything Apple does.
nope, cant organize apps in any way, just scroll thru or searchHaving no launchpad has so far stopped me updating. To those that have can I ask - is the spotlight replacement a good one?
Agree. I had my apps in folders as on my iPhone and all that’s gone now replaced by a random jumbled mess. I’m beyond angry.I really hate the new safari look, and also not a fan of the new app drawer. As much as I want to use the new spotlight, I might revert back to the last macos installation
It's worthless. You're better off just using regular Spotlight CMD-SPACE and typing what you want to run. You can't customize, reorder, or even recategorize.Having no launchpad has so far stopped me updating. To those that have can I ask - is the spotlight replacement a good one?
It’s a complete mess. So stupid like fisher-price or 1990’s General Motors interior design took over Apple and just nuked all the good stuff. Hodge podge Mischmasch, hard to achieve but I’m both pissed and disappointed.nope, cant organize apps in any way, just scroll thru or search
its app library from ios, not home screen
How?The best macOS feature is that you can downgrade without issues.
I find splotlight better than launchpad. Part of this is because I've mostly used Spotlight for a few years for finding apps. Otherwise I personally consider the browsing for app to be similar though with a smaller window. Both launched and spotlight are quick to launch.Having no launchpad has so far stopped me updating. To those that have can I ask - is the spotlight replacement a good one?
I used to laugh at the comments about Apple being out of ideas. But with retrograde nonsense like Liquid Glass, it feels like those critics were right.

But you’re talking product. And just about anything new that Apple releases is rarely assessed as useful or an improvement and immediately panned. A forum tradition. iPod, iPhone, iPad, Watch... for example.
Though there have been a couple of products where that was justified. Apple iPod Sox and Apple PowerMac G4 Cube come to mind. But those were released under the previous CEO.
But you’re talking product.
In technical terms, innovation is a market-disrupting advancement or change. For example, the HD format, which brought new televisions onto the market.People complain that Apple isn't innovating and things are stale. Then Apple innovates and people want to go back to the old way and what they are accustomed to.
Change is good if it's innovative! Apple's software team is a joke these days.I love how upset people get about change.
