New software is fun because if you've got a modern Apple device, you don't even need to buy anything new to get the new functionality that Apple will be showing off.
New software is fun, especially when they actually release it... Oh come on, I couldn't resist.

In terms of your modern Apple device getting new functionality, well, it may well be an antique Apple device by the time that new functionality is released!

Watching WWDC is like watching 2001: A Space Odyssey 😄

I still want way better ANC than my Pro 2's provide. I've tried everything from foam to triple flange tips that were pretty expensive, short of going from getting a custom mold and 200 dollar custom set that I'd have to remove to put it back in the case lol. I guess I'm just at the limits of this generation. The plane, lawnmower, vacuum, people talking etc are still very loud in full ANC mode.

So I may be in for Pro 3 if it's again way better, like another 2x. I wonder how near we are to the limits of in ear ANC though, because some noise is vibration going through your noggin (which is why you sound different to yourself vs on film)

I used to have Bose QuietComfort II. Lost one at a shoe store and even with the staff helping we failed to find the earbud – it happens to look almost exactly like their anti-theft devices. I ordered AirPods Pro 2 and I was shocked at how awfully poor ANC was. Those things had really good reviews! Bose agreed to sell me QuietComfort Ultra at half the price – it’s not possible to buy one earbud as they are apparently paired with the case – and it’s a night and day difference versus what Apple provides. But it’s also a difference that might cost me another few hundred euros simply because Bose doesn’t have Find My support… If I lost an AirPod, I’d just use my phone to find it.

If Pro 3 can reach the level of ANC that Bose can, I might replace them for this one reason. Find My.

I feel the same, I've tried every tip (both physical and ideas wise) apart from 200 dollar custom inserts, and I just can't understand how reviews were so glowing on ANC. It drops the volume of the world maybe 40%, but I can still clearly hear everything around me. Some noises are more grating and annoying because it takes out low constant tones best, so it may take out some of the jet engine of a plane but leave in an annoying regular creaking I didn't notice otherwise. It may be quieter but it shift pitches up my lawnmower and snow thrower because it takes out the low tones.

Maybe some reviewers are older and have lost a lot of their high range hearing because that's what it's worst at.
