Just because Developers haven't been given the GM or had it posted to the ADC does not mean it hasn't gone GM.;)

If Apple goes or has gone GM without seeding at least one RC build, then I am done with ADC. I don't pay good money to be kept in the dark or to have surprises on release day.

It's alright, but still a little buggy. Still needs some refinement. If it is GM, they should have said something. And in that case, I would suggest waiting for 10.5.1 at least.

Peace said that he thinks 559 is RC, not GM.

That would make more sense. Sorry, I thought he said GM. As per the "hope it's not GM". I expect the GM within the week fixing the last couple of bugs found and making it just a little more stable. That would give them just enough time to release it on Oct. 26th.

Better not be the 31st, 'cause I got plans. :p

Are they going to remove the aqua scroll-bars before final release? With all this talk of finally having a "unified" GUI it would seem strange to have itunes bars and aqua bars...

? 31st October

Hi guys

Amazon has announced 31st October as Leopard's release date... Will it come out earlier on Apple stores or is this the general release?

It's likely that Amazon is just using that date as a placeholder until they know for sure from Apple when it's coming out. They've done this before.

If Apple decides that October 23 (or whenever) is the release date, then Amazon will get their copies and ship them out earlier than their stated date of Oct. 31.

I'm not sure what Janete is looking at. I looked up & down Amazon's listing for the Leopard pre-order and didn't see a release date of Oct 31 listed. I did see:

Special offer: Buy Parallels 3.0 when you pre-order Apple Mac OS X Version 10.5 Leopard or Apple Mac OS X Version 10.5 Leopard Family Pack at Amazon.com through 10/31/07 and receive $20 via mail-in rebate. See details.

PLEASE NOTE: This product is expected to ship sometime in October. We will update the site with more specific information as soon as it is available, including system requirement details.

maybe they plan on updating in the next few days!

Just an opinion mind you but I think 559 IS the RC.

If that's the case, then I wish Apple would say so. I also hope it isn't true because that build is almost three weeks old and still contains significant rough edges. I feel they should be dropping at least one seed per week by now and indicating specific areas of testing focus.

i'm sure that they are working on it internally and that they'll seed it when it's ready

I'm sure they are, but I'm getting nervous because it's ship time and Apple hasn't released an updated build in 2.5 weeks. Nor have they given any official indication that 9A559 was the RC or even a deadline for feedback from ADC. At this point, Apple will pretty much have to push the GM out the door without any final testing by developers if they plan to have it on the shelves in October.
