Apple waited for the brown to be up to their standards.Didn’t the Zune come in brown?
It’s the thing that will play a tone when you use Find My.If I accidentally drop my brown iPhone 18 Pro in the toilet, how will I find it?
I’m sure the 18 will be a solid upgrade for my spouse who will be ready to get a new phone. I’m still happy with my iPhone 15PM. With my new iPP M5 I can defer the update to the IPhone XX.At this moment in time, i have no desire for the 18/18 pro series. For those planning to get the 18 series, I hope it serves you well. I have been happy with the new modem in the iPhone Air. That bodes well for 18 series users.
I feel the same way with my M5 purchase and iPadOS 26. Unless the fold shockingly surprises me, I plan on sticking with the iPhone Air.I’m sure the 18 will be a solid upgrade for my spouse who will be ready to get a new phone. I bought a 16e as a secondary iPhone to my iPhone 16 Pro Max. It’s an excellent phone that has exceeded my expectations while taking into consideration its modest feature set. Although it seems $100 overpriced, that’s typical for Apple.Just waiting for the 17e, because it will me more than enough.
I concur!I see 10 reasons to just stick with the phone you have.
Yes indeed.11. “It will be underwhelming” - Gurman
They should reduce the functions of this button. Apple are adding needless redundancy and complicating a button unnecessarily. Camera Control should be rebranded into a name like "QuickSnap" or similar and marketed as a speedy way to take photos and videos, with a half press giving users a quick peek through the camera from within any app—they can let go to exit or press down to snap that initial photo and transition seamlessly into the Camera app. I wouldn't dream about trying to explain the current button to many older people, and that fact is a design problem.
Apple is reportedly working to simplify the Camera Control button's design on iPhone 18 models in order to reduce costs. The current Camera Control button on iPhone 17 models uses both capacitive and pressure sensors beneath a sapphire crystal surface. The capacitive layer detects touch gestures, while the force sensor recognizes different pressure levels for taps, presses, and swipes.
However, according to the Weibo-based account Instant Digital, Apple will remove the capacitive sensing layer and retain only pressure sensing recognition in the second iteration to achieve all Camera Control functions on the iPhone 18. The simplified version is not about reducing functionality in the button, but about saving money.
why does anyone want under screen face id? curious
As one who embraces change and most new features, I find the Camera Control button on my iPhone 16 Pro Max an unnecessary, poorly executed feature. They should reduce the functions of this button. Apple are adding needless redundancy and complicating a button unnecessarily.
No button is guaranteed to be here to say. I keep chipping away at them giving them feedback about how bad the button is 😅As one who embraces change and most new features, I find the Camera Control button on my iPhone 16 Pro Max an unnecessary, poorly executed feature.
Understanding the long held internal belief that Apple knows better than their customers, Camera Control is here to stay.
Watching them waste resources trying to improve its functionality when they have deeper holes to dig their way out of, is somewhat entertaining.
Good point! No button is guaranteed to be here to say. I keep chipping away at them giving them feedback about how bad the button is 😅
Mocking them made them fix the keyboards.
The action button is here to stay although I think it will morph as all things morph. The camera button is probably here to stay although apple will be tuning it for a while.Good point!
I did submit a request for removal directly to Apple but my years of observing how they operate caused my skepticism to prevail.
Thanks for the reminder about the keyboards, which also reminded me that after years they began a campaign and replaced the battery on my 15” Mid 2015 MacBook Pro Retina.
Due to work and my heavy reliance on the iPhone Pro Max model, should they remove the button I’m first in line to buy one.
Although I have tried to accept and adapt via trying different settings it continues to annoy. The action button is here to stay although I think it will morph as all things morph. The camera button is probably here to stay although apple will be tuning it for a while.
I wouldn’t pitch them the note that it’s preventing you buying one, more than you find the button annoying and confusing and leave it at that.Good point!
