And again, I have to assume nobody measured any of these? They’re all just guesses.

Don’t worry about and turn off all useful things, just because they give you a theoretical extra minute of battery life.

If you really want to maximize battery life, just turn on low power mode all day. That is designed to turn off high consumption features by people who actually know which ones make a difference.

And notably, it doesn’t turn off the haptic keyboard.

This is my problem with these ‘tips’ articles. Nothing even approaching quantitative evidence they will make any more difference than simply turning on Low Power Mode on the occasions when I need some reassurance certain stuff won’t deplete power too soon.

Article title says get most out of your iPhone battery then lists day to day battery percentage tips..what about tips for long term longevity?

One tip I have for this is use a slow usb c- usb A charging cable when charging overnight…any confirmation or studies showing this helps? My intuition says it does, but I’m no expert.

Do what you want, there will always be that one iOS update that will destroy your battery.
Most of the times the iOS update has nothing to do with battery life.
11. Use an iPad at home.
12. Use an Apple Watch.

(Battery health on my 13 mini is still 100% after two years)
Do you realize that 100% after two years is weird ? You either have a bad reporting battery or your battery was like 110% of designed capacity when new (but iOS cannot report anything above 100% so it stays at 100% for a while).
How many charging cycles in those two years ?
These posts are so ridiculous. “Turn off all the new features and your phone battery will last longer!”
Yep, this threads always make me smile. Admittedly someone could not need some features, but to turn everything off is not desirable anyway.
If you carry your phone in your pocket the way most people do it acts as a step counter and is more accurate than the watch. Not sure of anything else it does.
More accurate than the watch ? Why ? Apple Watch has the same step counting sensors than the iPhone, and more…

Is the back pocket the third most common?
A good idea. And then sit on it 😅
My iPhone Pro Max 16 has the worst battery life of any iPhone that I have owned.
Your iPhone has an issue, because iPhone 16 PM has an excellent battery life
You should investigate.

There are many on the web.
To make a brief recap:
- try to keep battery in the 20-90% range most of the times (deep charging and deep discharges are detrimental to the battery)
- slow charging is a good idea, but Apple devices doesn’t really do fast charging, so it doesn’t really matter
- temperature is the biggest battery’s enemy

But be advised that whatever you are doing, your battery is degrading over the time, because it is chemically designed to do that. You can just slow it down. Some batteries are just more lucky than others

Some very useful tips. Connecting to WiFi does help. As of now Apple Intelligence or at least Image Playground consumes a lot of power. Hopefully that improves.

It definitely has. When I updated it last summer (I think it was 17.6.1.), my battery life immediately got worse. I had to charge my iPhone twice a day, which I never had to do before. I tried every fix I could find online and nothing worked. Then iOS 18 came out and tada, it fixed everything and my battery life went back to normal.
The same scenario happened before with iOS 14 or so. I can't remember exactly which version.

Damn impressive to have 100% still. Curious about your charging regimen.
I charge it at my desk each morning, but I use the phone so little that it doesn't take long.

What’s the point of having a phone if you are not going to use it?
In addition to what @Andy_2341 said, an Apple Watch requires an iPhone. I also want my primary number available to the iPad and Mac for SMS texts. My cellular Apple Watch allows me to leave my iPhone (and wallet, thanks to Apple Pay) at home most of the time. Granted, if I didn't work from home, my iPhone would get more screen time.

Good tips but not sure turning off haptic feedback is worth it. I know they say it impacts battery life, but I really like it. Unless you’re typing tons and tons of text on your phone I think there are lots of better things to cut out first.
how is it worth it other than maybe feeling satisfying? does it increase the speed or accuracy of you typing?

#9 - turn off fitness tracking on iphone if you wear an apple watch - this is definitely eye opening for me. Why would apple not automatically disable this when you're wearing the watch? I just turned mine off and wonder how much battery savings I can see, since I carry my phone in my pocket 12 hours a day and those sensors must be actively measuring and tracking
