So try this:

- Launch iTunes 10 in OSX
- Click your iPhone 4 name to take you to the "Summary" of sync
- Click the "Info" tab ... works great, huh?
- Click the "Apps" tab ... bye bye iTunes... it crashes out of iTunes.... I'm wondering if the way the app sync, app arrangement management tab integrates with a JB'd iphone is the issue, or if Apple just didn't get this one right.

Dohh! You'd think theyd've caught that one, ehh?

So how do we fix this besides all spamming Apple's feedback page?

I had the same issue on my sister's iMac... just ran the installer again and it worked just fine.

Hint: It may just be your installation of iTunes 10 ;)

I was able to replicate the issue on 3 of 3 macbook pro units. Maybe I should just get a PC... hahah.... I can't even say that without laughing a little

you just installed it right on top of the one you'd just installed? Not sure what that'd remedy, but I suppose I'll give er a whirl and report back.

Mine is crashing doing that exact thing to...I posted it earlier in the thread where they say itunes 10 has been released.

Add me to the list where it IS working.

The only problem I have with iTunes is it's ALL GRAY. EVERYTHING. It's really boring and sad to look at really. They washed out all the colors so iTunes isn't really that enjoyable to look at anymore.

Oh another thing, Steve Jobs was praising that stupid album artwork thing in Music Library, and I only have a handful of artwork that displays. It's the reason I don't use coverflow because I don't have any album covers. Le sigh...

I like the new look except the placement of the maximize\minimize\close buttons, it's just odd they're odd-sized. I don't recall iTunes being very amazingly colorfull to look at before. If you want, the MSFT Zune software might be a bit more "busy" looking for you ;-)

Steve was excited about the album art like he always is. Anybody who buys the music legitimately from the iTunes store has all the artwork, so that means your music came from a non-official source (aka you're the anti-christ in steve's eyes)... haha mine are all blank too... I've only bought maybe 10 of 5000 songs in my life from iTunes, haha. But that's why the art doesn't show. I switched back to the first original view, i don't like the album view. Luckily they left the first button to be able to click back to standard Song List view :)

Anyhow back on topic. I'm speculating that the crash is due to the interaction that the iTunes has with the iPhone when it checks the iPhone's app placement to be able to view and manage on the itunes screen. Likely reason some crash and others don't is there's probably some visual element (be it a theme, or an icon replacement or something) that disagrees with what itunes management wants to get back and causes a crash. This would explain why it crashes for some but not others.

Here you go:

Hmm.... and you only have 4 columns and 4 icons on the dock? Maybe that's it, maybe it's unable to interpret the 5 columns so it just says "f@$k it, I give up" and crashes, hehe.

Your screenshot left me perplexed. What about the name of your iPhone is so secret, and what word could possibly follow "High School ______" that's worth taking the time to blank out, hehe... and what sort of music do you have in iTunes from the 1900's and the 1910's? Did they even record music back then? Weren't movies silent back then, so I guess not soundtracks. lol, okay i'm feeling smartassy today haha

I just reinstalled and rebooted and it's still bombing when I try to go to the apps tab. Must be something I have installed on the iPhone that iTunes doesn't like. It's not as if I've ever actually used that tab in iTunes anyhow, so not a big deal, more just a peeve, like when you know there's a scratch in your new car it just draws your attention to it every day.

Hi,

Mine iphone 4 crashes also (jailbroken os 4.0.1)... as soon as i click on the apps tab... DEAD!!!

I dont get the view of my phone in itunes, a full itunes crash! I have reinstalled itunes and still no go!.

FIXED ISSUE!!!!

Remove infinidock / icon support and it works...

i also removed infinifolders as a prev test not sure if that plays any part in this.

Enjoy:D

I'd rather have infinidock and infinifolders than a crappy half-assed way to rearrange icons from iTunes, hehe. Good to know.

Good work on your findings so quickly, we all appreciate it.

Mine also crashes on trying to access the apps tab. Running the 4.1 gm software ip4!

I agree, but it seems to hard to go back to iTunes 9.1.2. If i knew how crap iTunes ten was i would never have upgraded... i might downgrade when i have time... those icons on the left look ghosted out very ugly!
