Looks like "LockInfo" also crashes iTunes.

I think it'll be the blank page LockInfo inserts on the first page.

I removed it, moved one icon over to the blank first page, and it now works fine.

I'd rather have infinidock and infinifolders than a crappy half-assed way to rearrange icons from iTunes, hehe. Good to know.

Good work on your findings so quickly, we all appreciate it.

I'd rather have too. my only thing is I need to be able to access the app file sharing section which is under the apps menu. eh always something

i turned off "5-column SB" and could open the Apps column in itunes10 (really weird how my phone re-organized all my apps!).

turning it back on brought everything back where i had it (whew).

just reporting!

Okay i think i have finally diagnosed the problem,

Yesterday i was having this exact same problem tried to delete everything orientated with iTunes and everything then reinstalled iTunes 10 no go. So i just left it alone, now i am at school looking at this thread and thank god i found it i thought i was the only one :p but i read everything you guys said and i think it is the blank first page i have a theme on my phone (no jailbroken on 4.1 gm) that has all my icons behind the 1st screen so i can see my homescreen wallpaper. Im going to try this tonight and move one icon over to the homescreen and see if it works.

Thanks for all the responses.

Ethan

Seems Apple don't want us to have a blank 1st Home screen. I was having the crash, 10.5.8 with 4.0.2, just dragged one icon back onto the 1st page and low and behold the apps tab works! put the icon back and now it crashes again!

Mine is not crashing. Specs:

iPhone 3G
jailbroken
running iOS 4.01
No 5-icon dock or 5-icon anything or lockinfo or intelliscreen

MacBook Pro
Running Mac OS 10.6

Hmm, now that's peculiar. I wonder what else could be causing it? I smell 10.0.1 to be coming our pretty quickly, haha... just like 9.x

i just posted above:

so that's one culprit (there are obviously others).

HAHA... I don't want to believe it. I need my 5-column SB... I want to believe it's because I have Justin Beiber's new single in iTunes and it's Steve Jobs way of telling me he's god and I've done against his will or something. Why must it be the most useful app that's the culprit?!??!?! ;-)

i have a jb iphone4 and i don't have any of those things installed (5 columns, lockinfo etc.) but like others, my itunes 10 kept crashing.

however, i did move all the icons from the first page manually so it's clean. this was never a problem in itunes 9 but it seems like this is the culprit (at least for me). now i just move an icon to the first page when i need to add/delete/update apps and itunes 10 hasn't crashed since.

i hope this helps.

No crash here either.

My JB'd iPhone 4 crashes at the Apps tab. And I have Infindock and Infinifolders installed. Uninstalled Infinidock still crashes. Uninstalled Infinifolders and bingo. Doesn't crash.

Reinstalled Infinidocks and it crashes. It appears both are problems....

Good reconfirmation. Thanks!

Per chpwn tweet...issues fixed by installing new IconSupport in Cydia. Should be available to all JB iPhones as a change in Cydia...was in mine.

Works....no conflicts now.

Thanks chpwn...

Mine prompted for update, I updated, rebooted, and the apps tab still causes crash :-(

EDIT: there's two upgrades. First reboot, then go to upgrades again, and the second time it works like a charm :) Apps tag working in all it's semi-glory now :) Thanks for restoring a worthless feature, hehe

I don't use the Apps tab for organizing my apps and folders but I do use it for which of my 500+ apps are to be installed on my iPhone 4 at any given time.

Yeh, unfortunately for most people who jailbreak and apply a theme, it doesn't play nice with the app tab, for me it's the 5 column spring board that just doesn't allow me to use their arranger.... but either way, I just got annoyed that the App Tab caused crash. LOL, fixed!

It look that "Shrink" and/or "Iconoclasm" cause the crashes too. I removed both and I now the "Apps" works in Itunes 10.

Your screenshot left me perplexed. What about the name of your iPhone is so secret, and what word could possibly follow "High School ______" that's worth taking the time to blank out, hehe... and what sort of music do you have in iTunes from the 1900's and the 1910's? Did they even record music back then? Weren't movies silent back then, so I guess not soundtracks. lol, okay i'm feeling smartassy today haha

It doesn't say 1900's, it says 00's meaning it's 2000 - 2009, and the 10s is 2010. Not so smartassy now LOL.

My iTunes also crashes when accessing APPS.

Where is this iconsupport package in Cydia? I did
a search and it did not show up.

Thank you.
