Forum generating duplicate, triplicate, quadruplicate email reply notifications

The subject says it all. Must be a glitch in the way the forum sends out email... but I don't know enough PHP to track down the cause.

Can you forward an example (all of the duplicates of one set) to arn@normalkid.com

Getting a lot of multiple notifications

Title says it all, really: I'm "getting a lot of multiple notifications". Is this a forum glitch? Sometimes it's just doubles, sometimes it's ten notifications of the same post.
 
Why am I getting updated 5-10 times a day for every topic I am subscribed to on Macrumors now?
I don't think it's a maladjusted user CP issue, I have never had this happen on any other BB I hang out on. Anyone else getting this?

I'm not sure I ever got the forwarded headers.

If someone is still having this problem, please send me duplicates of the emails with full headers.

I got triplicate email notifications like a week ago, and havent gotten them since. Then, last night, I got duplicate email notifications. I will forward them to Arn ASAP. :)

Edit: I lied. I got 18 copies of the same email notification sent at exactly the same time last night (10:02PM MST).
 
This was happening about a year ago and was fixed, I too was getting some duplicate emails a few days ago.
 
We got your emails, thanks, and we're still working on diagnosing the problem.

Two questions for each of you who experienced duplicate emails from the forum system:
  1. Is it still happening?
  2. If so, is every email duplicated or is it sporadic?
 
It is still happening, usually two or three, sometimes up to ten duplicates. Some posts, however, are clearly so dull that I only get one notification.

Still happening. I get 1-5 duplicates on some posts, no duplicates on others.

1. Yes

2. Every email notification that I have received within the past 2-3 weeks, I have gotten more than one copy of. The best example was that one night that I got 18 copies; all of which had their headers forwarded to arn.

Edit: In fact, I got a duplicate email informing me of your post, Doctor Q.

I can't explain it.

I made some changes to the servers to see if something I changed before did anything. If you get duplicates on this reply. let me know again.
