Jailbreak utility blocks iOS from recording iPhone location data

Dang, I was about to make a thread about it. I've downloaded it, but does it remove old logs or just keep it from making new ones?

Old logs?

I dont know how this works

It downloads the location log from the phone onto your computer into a log file, I'm asking whether it just keeps the phone from logging locations or if it deletes all old location logs. Buy you obviously have no idea what the hell you are talking about, so never mind.

As soon as I saw that iOS was tracking this info, I knew a jb tweak would come out. That was fast though.

The way it says it works:

This package installs a daemon (process that can run in the background) to clean consolidated.db file) No new icons are added to your homescreen. There are no options to configure.

it kind of sounds like it would delete the old information from the log also, not just keep new stuff from being added.

Where in your computer is this LOG so we can go into it and delete whats there? Has to be a way to the folder

It is saved in your iPhone backups, you can use this to see it:

Actual location:

On MAC
/Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

On Windows XP
\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

On Windows vista and Windows 7
\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

so i installed untrackerd...and i just executed that iphonetracker app on my macbook...it was unable to find the .db file

did the untrackerd delete that file perhaps?

thanks

Did you synch your iPhone after you installed the app?

I just installed it and then let my phone sync with iTunes. When I used the iPhonetracker app it found files on a previous restore but not my current one.

I name my phone something different every time I upgrade firmware and set up as a new phone. The last name I used showed up with results but the name I have for 4.3.2 didn't. It showed up last night before the tweak was released so it's definitely working for the current restore.

Now I'm off to manually delete the old ones on my computer. :)

my appstore updates are not working anymore since installing this app.

Are you talking about going into iTunes and clicking "Check for Updates"? If so, it's not working for me either. Checking for updates isn't working on my phone either. I hope this is a coincidence and not from the tweak.

I've uninstalled it and made some phone calls to see if it would start a new log. So far iPhoneTracker isn't seeing anything current.

The iTunes AppStore has been problematic the last 24 hours -- it has nothing to do with this jailbreak tweak.

Just a crappy coincidence then...good. :)

Thats funny both Cydia and the appstore have been having troubles just the same time we all found out about and installed a fix for our spying little friend.

Nothing to see here, just a coinkidink, move along.

Can anyone confirm that the Verizon iPhone also has the .db file?

A friend downloaded the tracker tool but said he can't find the file, and it's only an AT&T thing.

The internet is actually breaking. PSN is down and Amazon servers are having problems.

Has anyone noticed any slowdowns after installing this?
I have not installed it yet because the thought of having yet another service running in the background may slow down the phone or eat the battery quicker...
