I absolutely hate this argument. Sure a $2000 mac will still be worth $1200 in a year or two, but a comparable PC will cost $1000, and if it's worth $300 in a year or two, you've still managed to come out ahead with the PC (lost $800 on the mac vs $700 with the PC)
/End rant
I'm going to be the 3rd choice, option c. I happen to like macs, but Windows 7 is truly "good enough" that I can't imagine spending 2x as much for a mac.
Of course I'm that guy who would buy a ford over a BMW since they both get me from point A to point B just as well, I guess my lifestyle choices extend to my computer purchases as well
OP: Hater's gonna hate. There's no much you can do about it. Generally the arguments are valid, too. You just need to decide if the arguments against buying a mac outweigh the benifits of a mac. For some people, they don't, for others, they do.
Howerver, it sounds like you want one. Go buy it, and if you really hate it, return it. I believe best buy doesn't have restocking fees for laptops anymore, and I'm sure the Apple Store is the same if you ask nicely.
